I think a lot of the veterans have been signed up to Admin/Mod duties and roles. I used to converse a lot with Hetan for example, i'm unsure if she ever played mafia but now I hardly see her post. Maybe because i'm not always on the forum.
I await the next Malazan book, the discussion on site goes up quite a notch then.
In the meantime I'll have a look into what goup i'd like to be part of and then do what it takes to get recruited.

HHM runs its recruiting rounds whenever the great conclave (read: 2 or more members) get together in the group forum and someone (usually me) posts the extended list (aka, "house update"), including new inductees and assigning them card nominations. Which are then seconded and thirded by someone who happens to pass by, and then when Silencer wakes up and sees it, those people are made HHM.
then, inevitably, maccy shows up to post about how he has no time to make cards anymore.

Fun fact, (nothing to do with the forum really) I have a Bridge Burner beer in my fridge, and I am going to drink it this evening for dessert or possibly with supper. I may even post a picture of it.

The Mal-a-zan Empire site/forum were originally unrelated to the Ma-lah-zan books by SE, hence the difference in pronunciation. It was just a happy coincidence that so many forumites became fans of the series, and the concepts were merged. Now it's pronounced Moo-la-ZAAAAAAAAAAN.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

The application process for Team Quick Ben consists of numerous trials of exceptional difficulty, which each new aspirant must complete without fail, before he or she is inducted into our glorious ranks. These tasks are, in facts, 100% impossible to complete successfully, so you might as well not bother submitting your name at all.
Our 2012 induction is currently open for applicants—there are a limited number of spaces, so submit your name quic—

I would ask HHM when their last recruitment was, because PEN is still actively growing
, accepting it's latest member over the last weekend
And I also wonder where chat would be if conversations were converted to posts
And yes Shin, I will be very active here. I am ecstatic about this thread and kudos to you.

Chat would be left in the dust by some of the individual book fora for the most part, actually. The logs register less than 10k posts.

Nay, Hetan was important on this forum for years, and is currently the site owner. She merely doesn't grace us with her presence as much as she used to (probably to do with the lack of new books releasing,

We would accept you Tats btw, but I think unless things change, PEN has a 1 year cycle clause (I will probably have to depart on the anniversary of my join date... makes me sad to think about, so let's not bring it up again...

Closer to 2,000 actually. But it's nice when a woman exaggerates about you.

My forum user group is unique, seeing as only I am qualified to utilize such a gloriously horrible pun. Also I was an Admin for a day AND WILL BE AGAIN
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Fun fact: There was a forum drinking contest a while ago and a Caribbean woman under the name of "teholbeddict" won it with ease. She no longer posts, but she was quite fun and her liver is what should be cloned for future generations of super-soldiers.
