Although Apt leads the forum in views, his following is not nearly as fanatic as that of Abyss.
The replies to the Aybssmal Army sub-form vs the Wheelchairs of War is
1584 to 112 respectively.
AA- So they follow their dear leader fanatically, but they don't look at him all that often.
WoW- Is obviously not one for word, but must be funny looking so everyone keeps staring.

You’ve never heard of the Silanda? … It’s the ship that made the Warren of Telas run in less than 12 parsecs.

The Wheelchairs of War is currently too busy watching Sex in the City to bother with the cat and his ilk.

The reason that so many members seem to have joined at the beginning of 2003 is that most accounts were lost in an early forum move.

How old is the board? Over a decade?
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

From what I can remember, there were people on earlier incarnations of the board as early as late 1999 - scant months after the publication of GotM. Most of those people are gone, but a few have stuck around and some drop by now and then (particularly when Crippled God came out).
I suspect that I joined earlier than my stated registration date, but it isn't a big deal. I lurked for several months in the book forums only before giddying up and registering. Took me nearly a year before my first non-book forum post, so that gap might explain some of this.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Coincidentally, although my join date is also early 2003 I think in my case it's accurate. I first read GotM around December of 2002, lurked the forum for a little bit and then joined.
I remember being really nervous about my first post.

I think I joined back in '02, but my join date doesn't reflect this

And if anyone wants their join date modified...go ask Hetan how well that sort of thing goes down.

I actually joined in 2000, but I managed to get Selective Amnesia and lose my password to the site, along with my ability to chew food.
My account was lost in one of the great forum migrations, so now I have this account.

I stayed this long to find out what happened to Rodeo's pants. It's like a much more satisfying version of the Island's mysteries from Lost.
