A few more facts:

* The Religion subforum is owned by Gem and Terez.

* Any discussion on American politics pits Shinrei against the remainder of the forum.

* Every discussion that pits Shinrei against the remainder of the forum also magically spawns one far right, anti-government, anti-everything pro-american prophet of apocalyptic doom, usually from Arizona. These people tend to post in the discussion forum only.

* There are several threads you can't find anywhere, but to which everyone refers routinely, mostly out of nostalgia. It is the closest to the "Get of my lawn, stripling" feeling we have. Examples: The "I Win" thread, Mafia 13.5 and The Culture game. Mezla's DIY medical thread approaches the same legendary status but can be found, I think.

* Tairy is our favorite antagonist, and usually pits the entire forum against one poor soul who forgot to search the forum for the latest Tairy thread to test the waters. These poor souls generally leave, too, sometimes to warzones like Iraq, which may turn out to be less lethal than continuiing to fight for Goodkind's Cause on these boards.

*dibs is a leprechaun

*morgy wishes he was viking

*Tapper wears 'tops'

*every year and a half or so a nostalgia thread pops up - Gusty should necrobump the "members lost in the warrens" thread, it's a good read for newbies.

Cyclical events which occur about once a year:

-Someone starts a new small-scale forum game in the Games forum which will be played a handful to a dozen times and then be abandoned (sheep, forum chess, etc)
-The forum runs out of space and the admins have to prune one giant bunch of threads or other (pics threads, mafia threads, etc) to great protest from the contributors of those threads
-An admin retires, citing lack of time
-A long-time member posts an angsty departure thread
-Someone starts a thread about how the forum is not as interesting as it used to be or not as evil as it used to be (or both)
-Someone tries to start an ultimate death match (or resume the defunct previous one)
-A "forum project" is begun (ie: PEN)
-A "forum project" is abandoned (ie: Shinrei's 20 Questions)
-Someone suggests a new scary mob picture be made
-Someone with admin powers ghosts in, edits a post and ghosts out again without acknowledging that they have just flagrantly abused those powers for evil and not for good.

Feel free to add to the list :D

- D'rek, always signs off like this. No really.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

-A long-time member posts an angsty departure thread (has there been one of these yet? I've been waiting for one since I missed the action with GEM)
-Someone starts a thread about how the forum is not as interesting as it used to be or not as evil as it used to be (or both) (these truly are the best threads ever. if one needs a list with links, let me know :D )
-Someone tries to start an ultimate death match (or resume the defunct previous one) (so true)
-A "forum project" is begun (ie: PEN) (PEN is a brand new User group, not a project >_< )
-A "forum project" is abandoned (ie: Shinrei's 20 Questions) (Actually, Shin is still working on getting the next interview up with Anomander. We are just waiting for his response)
-Someone suggests a new scary mob picture be made (where is the request? Do I need to make it?)
-Someone with admin powers ghosts in, edits a post and ghosts out again without acknowledging that they have just flagrantly abused those powers for evil and not for good. (aka: BBQ shenanigans)

Feel free to add to the list :D (or amend)

You know, you're right. I've waited too long on Anomander (despite assurances he'd send it soon).

I have sent a PM to a new victim selectee, and am waiting for a response. I am still happy to publish Anomanders answers, whenever they finally arrive.

A religious dude left this year right? Not necessarily on bad terms, but with seeming finality. Forgot his handle though. And I don't mean "Crazy Israeli" Haroos or that dude who made Malazan his religion and it failed him.

Am I alone?

No, that dude who SE always alludes to in interviews and whose name I can never remember, except that it made people think he was a girl. Also, I assumed the main religious dude I am thinking of was a longtimer since his thread had a few "sucks that you're going" messages in it instead of indifference. Maybe it was last year though.

Kityhawk.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Bent left suddenly after (but not because of) a religious debate. Then came back some time later.

And, despite being the cock flap of the century, Snake made the best Happy Birthday picture ever to grace this board.
