Went for Greif/Vengeance in the end. At first the idea of a weapon powered by the will of the wielder might have seemed a repetition of other series, but I think there is more to it than just a power-up.

In particular looking at Andarist's story rather than Traveller's. And then you get the backstory of its use with Rake, just awesome.

Decided on Redmask's weapons of choice. They were so unlike anything we had seen throughout the series up until then.

I chose Kalam's daggers, mainly because of the way they are wielded. There may be more awesome weapons in their own right, but I think the wielder is as much a part of the weapon as the blades themselves.

i had to choose dragnipur due to the pure hell that those who died by it were sent to. also the hust blades are pretty fucking awsome but one weapon i dont think people have mentioned is draconus sword of darkness. a weapon of pure dark that can slay elder gods and obliterate armies by freezing them solid is pretty damn cool in my eyes

I can't believe you didn't include Tool's flint sword(s).Why no love for the T'lan Imass?

I didn't read thru all of the replies... but I am shocked that Cotillion's Rope is not on the list.... tearing up Edur on Drift?... a most impressive weapon. I would like to see a further description of said weapon. It appears that there are blades at the ends of The Rope based on the injuries inflicted. Dancer is the shiz.

Burn's hammer, for me.

Hammer for my choice, as well.

Although like Khel said, if he had put The Rope on their in its own spot, I would have chosen it instead. As for all the rest, I think Burn's Hammer is the most awesome.

The link that it has with The Sleeping Goddess; the scene where he destroys all the ground around Kruppe; the scene where the High Priest or Priestess of Burn tries to take the Hammer for him/herself and it breaks both his wrists, etc...All these things add to the cool factor. Plus it's sort of unique in that it's a blunt-style weapon amonst so many slice and cutting style weapons.

But of course like I said, The Rope is by far THE Most Awesome of any weapon of any book, ever. As it wasn't on the list, I chose the Hammer.

Went for Dragnipur (can't believe I didn't see this poll before...) but honourable mentions to the Rope, Draconus' sword, Kallor's sword...they're all damn close.

Yeah, seeing as Khel made this a really long time ago, I'm thinking it was before Dust of Dreams, and definately before tCG.

And you brought up something else that wasn't on the list.(Couldn't have been on the list, wasn't written about yet.)

And that's Draconis's sword. I'm guessing you're referring to the sword Draconis has when he returns back to the world from Draginpur. The sword we're talking about is the one described as "dripping darkness." This would have been another weapon that I MAY have put over Burn's Hammer. I'm gonna say I still rank The Hammer over all other swords, including Draginpur, Vengeance/Grief, etc...Yet this sword seems to be on a whole new level of badassery.

Didnt the hammer break dragnipur? Probably the only thing capable of such. I imagine my vote also goes to whatever the seguleh first would use. Even if its a rubber chicken.

Id say that the weapons that caused the most injury and carnage would be the moranth munitions.

Hust swords are hella cool

I suppose my choice is pretty obvious, but Dragnipur has no rival. Come on, a sword which teleports you to such a hell! There is an impressive work of imagination here from SE. And of course badassery!

But if I were playing a RPG game, things will differ. Although as a player my default weapon of choose is sorcery (with a nickname as mine this comes at obvious, too), if I had a warrior I would prefer a weapon than I can imagine myself wielding (I can't imagine myself having the skills for any weapon, but that's another point). No RPG character played by myself could have both physical and moral strenght to wield such thing as Dragnipur, unless I play on purpose a character who is nothing like me, which, by the way, would be interesting too, but at the moment I've never tried. Back on topic, if I have to choose a weapon for me, I would go for a Hust sword (a light weighted one, please). Wailing swords... Oh, so evocative and poetic... Althought I suspect people don't engage in battles to perform poetry, do they?

And in real life I want no weapon at all. War is only beautiful in fiction.

I've always thought of Dragnipur as a prison that also happens to be a sword and not primarily as a weapon, so no Dragnipur for me. As someone mentioned above, the coolness of a weapon also depends on the fighting style of the wielder, so I would definitely choose Kalam and his knives. That escape from Mock's Hold in tBH must have been the best fight scene I've ever read, it sends shivers down my spine every time. And it has also kind of influenced my video gaming behaviour. Almost all of my characters have turned into dual-wielding rogues.
