I am seriously behind on my anime.
Can someone name me three must watch shows that are from 2016 onwards.
I generally enjoy over the top action animes.
Uhhhhhh, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure seasons 4 and 5 - season 1 was 2012 iirc and season 2 2014, relatively long at maybe 150 episodes? Very OTT and very fun. Season 1 is kind of slow until you get to Battle Tendency and then it gets really wacky.
Akame ga Kill! was great fun. Can't remember what year it was though.
Attack on Titan is another big ticket and S3P2 is due to drop in about a month.
Agree with catching up on Attack on Titan.
Akage ga kill is beyond 2016, iirc, and I'd hardly call it a must watch. JoJo... sure if you like the earlier parts of JoJo.
For other big ticket action series since 2016, peehaps Saga of Tanya the Evil and Konosuba (Which is more of a comedy but still)

The Akame recommendation is purely for it being an OTT action anime., There aren't many recommendations I can think of in that genre unless we branch a little.
Tanya is a good shout - Aoi Yuuki as a raging, misanthropic loli with phenomenal cosmic power? Oh yes.. KonoSuba is definitely a comedy, with a little bit of action. Gimpy animation but fun as anything.
JoJo is admittedly slow for the first nine episodes (Phantom Blood) but as soon as you get to Battle Tendency it ramps up notably and doesn't slow down.
I will never stop bumming Izetta: The Last Witch as it's my favourite overall series. You could also try Juuni Taisen.

2016.... ok and here's hoping i can wake myself from the amnesia that arises out of watching anime for over a decade...
2016
*Aijin, imagine if suddenly people were imoortal (can comeback to life, but still subject to pain etc) but the goverment is trying to kidnap you and torture you in experiments. Very under the radar show that was very fun to watch all the way through. The villains VA really sells this show.
91 Days:Gangster New York, 30s, a tale of revenge and alcohol
*Arslan Senki: Fantasy, sword and spear fights, strategy, battles etc...
Re: Zero: Isekai with a dark twist. Imagine playing a game on insane difficulty and having to die over and over again, and guess what, you feel and remember every death and cannot tell anyone about it.
Assasination classroom: Hilarious slice of life show about a calls of kids trying to assasinate their teacher who is a octopous mosnter capable of flying at mach 13.
*My Hero Academia: RIght now this is THE long running shounen show that everyone loves (espcially on the cosplay side, you go to a con, you will see MHA cosplayers, speaking of which ill be starting work on my tokoyami 2.0 cosplay in a month)
Joker Game: Spy anime feature a spy agency in japan in the 1930s, very entertaing show, every episode gets you hooked.
Kabaneri of the iron fortress: this was a mixed bag, fantastic setting, great action scenes and characters. downside is the second half kinda goes off the rails.
Drifters: Historical character transported to fantasy world where they must fight each other. Think fate but with the animation of hellsing. I enjoyed it personally.
2017:
Sage of tanya the evil: My current profile pic. Guy from HR reincarnated in alternate ww1 and shit happens. Its awesome, i loved it.
attack on titan s2: It finally came out, and you wouldnt have to wait on s3 as it recently finished
*Re:Creators: An absolute Gem from 2017. Isekai, instead its cahracters from various media that come to the real world and need to come to grips with the facts their lives, trials and tribulation are all a form of entertainment. This was my 2nd favourite anime from 2017 It only narrowly looses out tooo
*Made in the Abysss: Many consider it the creme de la creme of 2017. Hard to describe but its a window into a fanstastic but also dangerous new world.
Shoukoku no Altair: A weaker version of Arslan Senki. Potential it had in droves but suffered from massive pacing issues 1/2 in.
2018
*Sword art online:Gun gate online: Possibly of one the best instalments in the SAO verse, and much of it due to the fact this is a spin off series with none of the main cast. a brand new set of characters, had me hooked the entire way
*Megalo Box: Do you like sports movies/anime? If so youll love this anime about boxing.
*Golden kamuy: I am in love with this show, imagine a gold rush style setting, except its in hokkaido. Its a hunt for treasure featuring many memorable character. Did i mention that I absolutely love this show? Its my gem from 2018
Legend of the galactic heroes: WATCH THE ORIGINAL, REMAKE SUCKS
Bannana fish: Underated show, very good fight choreography with a surprisngly fresh set of characters.
Angolmois: Historical anime about the first Mongol invasion of Japan. If you like a good historical action romp not bad
*Goblin Slayer: Very discussed show
And thats all i can think of going through the MAL lists.
* Denotes shows id reccomend above others
EDIT: ALSO I AM ALIVE. Just super busy and didnt have access to a pc for a few weeks. Also Katsucon was lit.

Gun Gale Online has Kirito, so it's not accurate to say it's a new set of characters - unless you mean GGO Alternative with Pink Loli. In which case yeah, fair shout. Though GGO is one of the better parts of SAO anyway.
Also AOT Season 3 Part 2 drops next month and it brings us up to date with the manga in that the logical endpoint is the end of the first overall arc. The next manga arc after is an entirely new one overall.

Also D'rek… What the deuce?
Yes the Pink girl with the p90s. Though given shes in her 20s i dont really consider her a loli

Loli is more the appearance - it's the same type of loli as Tanya.
Summer is looking good - Danmachi season 2, Kobayashi season 2, and now How Many Kilograms Are The Dumbbells You Lift? Wew lad.
Back and getting caught up on all the things. SAO is still stupid, boring and too much pointless talking. Promised Neverland is amazing and also bad for my mental health. Halfway through Castlevania season 2 and I love the back-and-forth between the 3 protagonists, but all the stuff with Dracula's war committee is boring and dumb (and we've only ever seen, like, 6 monsters at a time... why does he need a half-dozen generals / why doesn't he send out all those dozens of minions hanging around his headquarters all at once?)

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.
Not surprising at all, it's mad popular and inoffensive. Personally I don't think it's been anything super special, but it has been overall fun... though the second half feels more generic isekai and uninteresting.
Since they had the announcement ready so soon after season 1 ended and it's only a 1-year wait, not a multi-year delay, I am kind of surprised they didn't go for some sort of cliffhanger ending into the next season. Seems like this was a definite possibility, given the manga/LN readers are all apparently gnashing their teeth over not reaching whatever the next arc is.

They kind of have in a sense - they spent an entire episode introducing Black, and he seems set to be a major player next season. it's a fun series overall though.

Love castlevania! The protaganists and the action sequences are great!
Dracula's depression and disinterest I also think makes sense. However, as you say the inability of his war council or army of minions to be better effective is not.
