One Punch Man season 2 is this month. Very excited. Season 1 was perhaps the best TV-show I've watched. Period.
Any of you guys know if it will come to Netflix? I want to watch it in Japanese but I don't really want to have to subscribe to some weird weeaboo site just to watch OPM.

Even if it does come to Netflix, didn't that take like a year after it's release before season 1 was on Euro-netflix? Would probably be the same thing again. There's tons of places to pirate it online, of course - if you're already paying for Netflix and it's going to be available there sooner or later, it's not a huge moral quandary.

Today, I binge-watched the entirety of Kekkai Sensen season 2. (I'd watched the first couple episodes when it started but never got around to continuing it.) I remember enjoying the first season a lot, yet having a few reservations about it being kind of overly obtuse with some of its presentation and especially the main storyline. Season 2 was everything great about season 1 and better. Same great setting and fun cast, same mix of big over-the-top action (even bigger) with wacky comedy and mystery.
And I was completely unprepared to be so moved in the final episode... first time I think I've ever bawled my eyes out during a fight scene. How come you didn't warn me, Dolmen?!

No big surprise there, had to happen sooner or later.
Saw first episode of One Punch Man season 2. I'm sure the web will have a lot of gnashing about the drop in visual panache, but I think we all knew that was coming. I wouldn't say it's bad... just OPM is now on the level of any other ordinary shounen show, rather than the impressive scenes of the last season. Story-wise it was interesting. Can't say I care that much about Genos' subplot but King-Saitama was a funny twist.

Wait? One Punch Man season 2 is lower quality? Why? It was hugely popular.

Season 1 was kind of a fluke. Instead of whatever the usual staffing process is, the director basically called in a ton of his most talented buddies as freelancers so it had a rock star staff.
Whereas season 2 is very much a "this'll make money no matter what we do, so shop it out to whoever will make a semi-decent production the soonest". Different director, almost none of the same senior staff, and it's even moved studios to J.C.Staff, a studio that has something of a reputation of {a} making quantity over quality (there are seasons with, like, 5 different J.C.Staff shows airing at once), and {b} doing mediocre sequels of shows that started at another studio.
They'll probably still call in some big guns for the 2 or 3 biggest fight scenes of season 2, but those probably still won't be quite as polished as the best scenes from season 1, and you expect everything in-between the bigger scenes to be filled with static shots and panning cameras and such.

But hey, like half the animators that worked on One Punch Man season 1 worked on Mob Psycho (seasons 1 *and* 2), so you could watch that...?
Or Space Dandy is another one of those "director calls in all their friends" shows, but with even more creative freedom (it didn't have any source material to adapt like OPM, so episode directors could make up their own stories and scenes), and it's consistently visually good across the whole 2 seasons, too.

No. It wouldn't be the same. I don't even really like anime much. But OPM is close to perfection.

For what it's worth, here's my seasonal sampling:
Kimetsu no Yaiba - Actually really good so far.
We Never Learn - Total waifu-bait trash, but I'm watching it anyway.
Fairy Gone - Atrocious. Dumb plot, ugly effects, super weird pacing. The creators clearly think this is a lot cooler than it is.
Kenja no Mago - Total trash isekai, but it's actually kind of refreshing to see a plain old ordinary, formula isekai with an overpowered wizard protagonist and his harem without any curses or he's evil or there's aliens or he's a slime twists. I might actually watch more of this.
Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu - It's like that show from a few seasons back about the middle schoolers that tease each other constantly: cute but there's no way I can watch 12 episodes of this.
Gunjou no Megmel - Terrible. Finished the first episode and regret it.
Shoumetsu Toshi - Terrible. Could just barely finish the first episode.
Midara na Ao-chan - Terrible. Couldn't even finish the first episode.
Sarazanmai - I've heard the debut was really good, but haven't seen it myself yet. Same director/concept creator as Revolutionary Girl Utena and Mawaru Penguindrum, so I'm debating whether I want to go binge-watch those first or not.

So, I know I stated that I don't really like anime much above, but I started watching Baki on Netflix. I'm on episode 10 and this show is crazy. It's just ultra violence for the sake of spectacle.
I like that.
Nothing makes sense, none of the damage or injuries are consistent, but it sure looks awesome.

English titles perchance? I'll have a look at my list later. Bokuben is the only one I recognise up there.

Ummm... hmm... I liked the premise and the art is gorgeous. And the show starts out seeming pretty mellow but jumps into high gear really fast (in a good way). But i still didn't finish it... I guess because of the teen angst and politics of it weren't clicking, but thinking back on it now none of those were especially bad so I don't really know why I stopped watching it.
Worth giving a try, it might really click with you.
