This may seem like a daft question, but does anyone know if CR subs show on a bank statement as Netflix? I ask because I can't locate my CR sub anywhere, I seem to have a Netflix one, and I had my card cloned not long since.

Nah, CR shows as CRUNCHYROLL, definitely not as Netflix lol.

Weird - I've not had an entry on my statement with their name for a while now, but the Netflix one is there. Might be I'll have to clarify with my bank on lunch, then!

re: FMA/FMA:B - the jury is out on which version is actually better, but they're both quite good. I had the same issue as you where I found it hard to get interested/immersed in FMA:B during the first few episodes. The problem is that FMA:B was made with the idea that most people had already seen the first, so they condense some story elements quite a bit at the beginning - what takes 3 episodes in FMA gets squished into 1 in FMA:B, so the pacing doesn't leave a lot of room to get attached to things. The story starts to shift gears into more than just Ed and Al going on random research journeys for a philosopher stone around episode 10 and fully picks up in episodes 13 and 14. I would try to watch it to that point, and if you're still not interested by then, drop it.

It did start getting more interesting around episode 10, though I don't think I really got into it until closer to episode 20. I'm in the 40s now, and officially in binge mode.

I wonder if maybe it isn't possible to watch some combination of the original anime and the Brotherhood ending to get the story the way it was originally intended to be told. The flashback method in the early part of Brotherhood might have something to do with why I found it hard to get into. I found it awkward at points, and it was definitely difficult to get attached to the characters at first. Anyway, maybe I should have searched around for a combination episode guide; I'm sure some helpful person has made one, somewhere. I suspect that many people who said it would be fine to watch just Brotherhood didn't actually start with Brotherhood themselves. (I am sometimes reluctant to recommend DB Kai for that reason, though I tend to think it's a better version of the story.)

I recently watched Space Patrol Luluco. All of it (13 episodes, each is about 10 minutes long).

It's awesome. It's everything a short show made by studio Trigger should be. But you need to have at least watched Inferno Cop, Kill la Kill and the first Little Witch Academia OVA first.

(last episode spoilers)

Just downloaded Casshern Sins, Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, and Noein: To Your Other Self after randomly clicking around MAL's sci-fi section.

Any advice about any of these shows?

Casshern Sins, Pretty good show from what i recall, def wortha watch

DO NOT WATCH MAHOUKA KOUKOU, seriously that shit is awful. Your MC is an emotionless gary stu who makes a saiyan random powerups seem reasonable. The only real point of tension is whether or not the guy and his sister will kiss.

Its a truly awful show

no idea about noein

Noein is interesting. It's not exactly accurate but the basis in quantum physics of the plot is neat. I'd recommend it for a light watch.

Mahouka isn't terrible - 90% of the enjoyment you might get out of it, though, is in the *potential* of the setting, as it really doesn't follow through or have anything resembling a great plot. About every six episodes though you do get some random badassery. Also, what LP said. XD so yeah, it's a really missed opportunity, as is common with the flood of Light Novel adaptions in the past few years.

Haven't watched Casshern Sins.

Okay, Mahouka doesn't sound good, so that's off the list.

Mob psycho 100.

I shall now rant about this show. Ahem.

Hey kids, are you looking for flashy anime heroes, busty femme fatales and generic casting types ranging from cat eared vampire chibis to monstrous beastlike grizzled soldiers? Well you've come to the wrong place. Here at Mob psycho 100 we dont do flashy, showy or generally voluptious.

No our MC is a lil guy called Shigeo.

Look at his tiny arms, his perfectly bowl shaped haircut on that oval head and then theres that glazed over bland stare.

This is the coolest character you will ever meet.

No, dont run, give it a chance, here, watch, enjoy

Get to episode 8. Just get there. Its all good!

I just skimmed the wiki page for this, and it sounds cool. I'll check it out.

I also downloaded Serial Experiments Lain.

Oh cool it definitely is, It's terribly drawn but that's what really makes the story stand out. ONE doesn't let his artistic skill drown out his passion to tell entertaining stories.

Oh looks like it's already been covered in thread. So everyone knows One was the mind behind Onepunch-man, great!

He is to manga what Wildbow is to wordpress.

I'm so tempted to pick up manga again but I don't want to spoil anything for myself.
