is it just me or in the latest ep of RE zero natsuki has wayyy to much info about stuff.

I assume it's either things that were more explained in the novels that they skipped over, or just LN-level "we need good guy to look super good even though he can't really do much" writing. Maybe both.

One more episode left. Who wants to bet something goes terribly wrong in the last episode?

only one more?? :killingme:

i wanted two...oh well...

It's gonna be brutal.

Cowboy Bebop is now on Crunchyroll if any of you weebs haven't seen it (you should).

I wouldn't trust a person that hasn't seen bebop.

True story: I secretly ask a random bebop question on first dates...it has yet to be answered..

Either way you look at it..this is why I haven't met my particular girl.

I know I know..my sister in law calls me picky...it's not like that at all..ya know?

(Disclaimer: I own the Bebop Blurays but didn't want to rip them myself)

Also, what are some questions you ask?

I've already watched the series a few times when it was on an old late night channel but haven't got the DVDs.

RE0: well that was an uplifting finish to the series. I kept expecting the kerbstomp to come but it never did.

JoJo pt4: I'm a bit cold on this. After how excellent Stardust Crusaders was, this just feels flat and a bit dull. It picks up when Old Joseph appears but he doesn't do that very often.

Asterisk War: Predictable and cheesy, but fun. I'm seven episodes in now and I'll probably see this through to the end. The score is top tier as well, which helps.

I thought it was... okay. Just kinda okay. Good writing, mostly (the scene is obviously supposed to be a reversal of Rem and Subaru's one a handful of episodes back), but the directing was off. Like, the climactic music ends before the scene actually does. And then the screen gets so blindingly white you can't even see their faces. Kinda weird.

The ending of that fight really came out of nowhere - did his writing in the book actually mean anything?

I have to say I think the whale fight was a lot more epic and climactic... I wish they had changed the story so that the witches battle had come first and the whale battle had somehow been the "end of the show" climactic fight.

Oh well, overall it was good.

Apparently they reached the end of Book #3 and stopped there.

But in the epilogue of book 3 it goes:

I get the feeling the anime isn't yet done because there's too much unanswered.

As to his writing in the book - if it's the Gospel of the Witch or whatever, and Subaru has been touched by the Witch, chances are his blood in that book had some sort of knock-on, powerful effect.

In regards to the whale, narratively speaking it doesnt make much sense though.

Id have to rewatch the scene to get to your other points.

It is done, though. That was the last episode.

Obviously the novels will keep going past that point, but most anime only get 1 season and then stop with a bunch of unanswered questions because it was really just an advertisement for the novels/game/manga/etc.

Which is completely new, unexplained and totally pulled out of his ass. Damn strange way to end the final battle of the series.

Yeah, I'm saying they should have changed the narrative so that it did make sense (that being said, it barely made sense in the first place - 4 episodes spent setting up this huge imminent threat from the Witch Cult only for them to say "nah, the cult can wait, let's go fight this whale first").

I think this is a case of certain material being left out of the anime adaptation as there are numerous things that aren`t explained.

Lies...dirty lies. We won't know for sure until the second season is announced. Let's not rumormonger and spread falsehoods.

Sure, and since I haven't (and almost certainly never will) read the books I don't care about information in the books. I think the show would have been a lot better if they had not rigidly stuck to the order and events of the books (except for the parts they left out, apparently) and instead made some decisions to change things that would make it a better anime.

Most anime don't get second sequels, especially if they are LN/VN/novel/manga adaptations. And of the small percentage that do, most of them announce it at the end of the first season (if not in the last episode's end card, then at least via a production committee announcement a few days later).

Sure, we don't have any guarantees that this will or won't get a sequel... but in that case the default assumption should be that it probably won't.

Sadly ;)

But let's turn this into a discussion... everybody, what's your favourite shows that are adapted from a manga/LN/VN/etc and do have a proper end (even if it's not the same as the source), aren't just shameless plugs to go play/read the source material?

Akame ga Kill! was adapted from the source material so that it had a concrete ending (you can't get much more ended than they did, at any rate). That's really the only one I can think of that I've seen, though.

I just finished GitS:SAC. Now I'm starting GitS: 2nd Gig. I really enjoy the way this show takes concepts from the movie and does a deep dive on them.

I can think of a good handful of others, but they're mostly all shows that ran for long enough to just adapt the whole story: Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, Assassination Classroom, Toradora, Fate/Zero or Future Diary, etc.

Sakamoto desu ga and Dandelion Castle-town are the only ones I can think of that were only one-cour and reached a solid ending, but I think their original sources are shorter, too.

I can't think of any longer manga/LNs that couldn't possibly be fully adapted in one cour so the creators just said "let's skip these big chunks and jump to the end" or made up their own ending, rather than just adapting the first few chapters and stopping there.

I just finished Orange this weekend. Not sure how I feel about it... I don't want to say it was unrealistic, because it wasn't, but at the same it is pretty frustrating watching "real" characters that are almost too shy/naive/insensitive to function.

Awesome show, I remember there being a big amount of discussion on it in this thread, like... a year or two ago (?) if you want to try and find it.
