I figured it out in the middle of LIARS KEY as I THINK Hennen (I could be wrong, it could be someone else) describes it as a massive circular tunnel underground that the Builder's were responsible for... and I even asked on this thread if I was right, and Lawrence said I had to wait for OSHEIM to find out. It's a pretty amazing revelation though for sure. And just you wait, there are plenty more revelations coming your way in OSHEIM!

Just finished.

What an excellent excellent finish to the trilogy.
The finale was great, not wanting to spoil, and tags being a pain in the ass on the phone, the final showdown was brilliant. Especially the family involvement.

The pace didn't let up, I recall there being a few lulls in Liars Kay. overall Id say I'll need a full trilogy reread in about a months time to gauge which actually was my favourite, its hard to judge a book just set down against a book read nearly a year ago.

I loved how they storied collided, and given the limited time frame that both were working in to save the world, so to speak, a crossover simply had to happen. i love how Jalan's stopping the engine enables Jorg to heal the world, had Jalan not made it, would Jorg and William have been able to turn the wheel back? Doubtful, but will Jalan ever know how important he was to Jorgs Ascension to the throne and subsequent death, seriously doubtful. The world will slowly come to rights and Jalan will sit and break his arm patting himself on the back for doing the "easy" part of it. love that

So happy we got to see Jorg again, got that fix, when he came into it, I did have a nerdgasm, quality scene and I loved how his idea to Jal turned out, got that tease and slow reveal at the end creating the Red Prince. That was really well done and it showed how far Jal had come.

I thought the line at the end of that drinking sequence from Jal about how many lives he could have saved if he'd pushed Jorg over the edge was very powerful.

Before that though, with the boom and when we got the scene at the tower with the door I was hoping he'd show up, great answer to Jal's question and it says it all really...

"What happened to the Door?"
"Jorg."

The scenes in Hel/Hell were really well done, the epic swim/flash backs I liked but I thought the most powerful part of this - the scenes with William and how Jal talked about how anyone with the will strong enough can do/shape what they want. His jumping into the briar for Jorg... tough reading.

I thought the length of the seige sequence was about right, it was getting to the point where I was hoping for something new to happen, turned out perfect too, had missed Snorri up to that point.

The Taproot and Loki reveal was sweet, built on the builder myth, certainly giving us some unanswered questions.

Great end sequence too and the final battle, liked how the two parts of Jal became one and met each other for the first time heh.

Still teased though, would love to see the impact of what Jorg and now Jal did, never heard about what happened with the new Empire... yet.

I finished Wheel over the weekend and loved it. I agree with Maccy that it was a great conclusion to the trilogy. I too am really itching for a series after Jorg's death. Is there any magic left in the world. If so how does it work.
