I am growing vexed with Taskmaster challenges. Especially the combat ones.

Got a better hang on web-swinging, basically I needed the "web shoot twice without losing altitude" and "press space to launch when doing the grapple thingy" upgrades unlocked to get the flow.

I'm only like 60% through the story. Not sure where this is going, since I don't really know any Spider-Lore besides the very basics. From that one Sony conference I know there's gonna be a big prison fight though.

So I got to Act III of Arkham Spidey and all I can say is this:

That certainly escalated quickly.

Im not exactly a gamer authority, but would say it is very well designed for anyone.
Some of the storylines are flat out dark (if obvious), the action is well done, the levels are visually fun to outright beautiful, and the finale(s) are GLORIOUS. You have to accept the cutesy element in inherent in a Kirby game, but even so I'm impressed with what they did with this.

Tempting. Maybe I can find it at a library.

Finished SC2 at long last.

Once I wrap up Brood War on my 'let's play' I might stream AOE2 campaign.

Repalying Black opps 3 since its free on PS plus. I cant see a thing, you have an ability to mark enemies using your cyber imlants but honestly without it Id be blind. Enemeis in the distance just blur into the background. Not sure if its the TV, shouldnt be, or what but I dont remmeber it being sucha problem when I played on PC back in the day

I stopped the Black Ops series at Black Ops II, but picked up Black Ops 4 as one of the PS+ games of the month. I remember when Black Ops 3 came out, when I would still jump onto Black Ops 2 sometimes, in the multiplayer lobbies a lot of chatter was about how bad Black Op 3 was. I guess with 3 they tried to follow Titanfall and incorporated wall running and player boost pack (or whatever it's referred to as), but they didn't pull it off all that great. The overall chatter was Black Ops 3 sucks, so they came back to Black Ops 2.

My take on Black Ops 4 is it is not very good. They eliminated the campaign and the only story stuff you get is for each Specialist when you run through that option that gives you background as you go through the tutorial of their abilities. The multiplayer was lacking. It just felt shallow as far as the guns and the feedback they provided as you fired them. Furthermore, the maps were poorly designed. I only played the maps that came with the base game, so maybe additional map packs provided better maps. And a big one for me - the reduced ability to do various load outs and instead you have to pick a Specialist. It just didn't gel with me.

I guess they got the series back on track with Black Ops Cold War, at least that's what some reviews I scanned when the game came out seem to indicate. I would like to play it sometime because they take the series back to 1 and 2 territory and sandwich the campaign in between during the cold war 1980s. I thought they had some rich material to draw from with Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 settings. Black Ops 1 campaign/story is really good imo, so if they were able to channel that into Cold War, that would be an improvement.

Ok, I finished the side-crap in Spidey. Spent a few hours yest trying to get the "clear a base with 0 damage" achievement, because those basic grunts kept tossing molotovs at me, grr.

So now I guess I'm just blitzing the main story.

Finished Cult of the Lamb.

Short and sweet game marred by game breaking bugs.

The combat runs felt like more of a chore than fun but I really liked the cult management aspect. I would love a bigger sequel that leans more into running your cute little murder cult.

Also been playing Tinykin on Gamepass. Never played a Pikmin game, so I can't compare but the game is fun. Very relaxing, low stakes collectathon with simple puzzles. Great for podcast play.

Deathloop:

Started out fun and I was enjoying it but it’s starting to feel more like upjumped Indie as opposed to a real triple A title.

It’s starting to bore me. Only 4 areas, that only have minor changes depending on time, and 5 abilities with some definitely more useful than others. You can only equip 2 so I tend to run the same 2 all the time.

Also rather than a sandbox full of discovery as you try and find a solution to a perfect loop the game has only one option and is essentially on rails.

Felt the same way about Deathloop. I've tried two times but after going through the intro and a few days, I just run out of interest.

I think the overall world design and style is really cool but it lacks drive.

Finished it last night, the final loop was boring. Literally just stringing together set prices I had done several times before in a final order. I think I finished it out of a need for completion more than anything. The story doesn’t have the pull to keep you interested and the ending was…

Finished Tinykin. Wonderful little collectathon.

I can see Hardspace Shipbreakers is coming to Gamepass later this month. That's probably going to be the next game I get into.

Been too occupied with the news these past 2 weeks. occasionally I'd dip into Spidey DLC to biff some bads and do some swinging to try to hit all those stooopid benchmarks.

Started Hardspace Shipbreakers.

Played through the tutorial and chopped up my first ship. This is fun.

It takes a while to get comfortable with moving in 3D space and figuring out how the tools work but it's really satisfying dismantling and salvaging a spaceship.

Finished Spidey DLC 3. Still need to some crimes to get 100%, but basically done.

Need a break, so I'll play one of the indie titles that came out this month. I'm thinking "Blind Fate".

.....

Having played for like 4 and a half hours, it's fun, but difficult. Like a gimmicky 2D Sekiro, except you're a blind cyborg samurai in post-apoc Japan.

Playing through AOE2 campaigns at last and I'm finding the unit control... extremely finnicky to be honest. There doesn't seem to be a good way to stop them from rushing b and dying to defenses, they seem to get pulled all that way even in defensive stance and if I choose the other two then they just sit and watch their mates die for a laugh.

maybe I need to revisit this game when work isn't stressing me to the nines.

Real heroes spam the "pause" button to give orders to individual units, :)

Still playing Hardspace Shipbreaker.

I managed to blow up two spaceships in a row, by being sloppy with where I placed the cut I was making with my laser. Picking up pieces that went flying in every direction is a pain the ass.

Also nearly got pancaked when I was removing a rocket engine and didn't realize the engine compartment was pressurized. I almost got torpedoed by 10 tons of motor parts getting shot out of it's hole.

Being a Shipbreaker is fun.
