Been playing a bunch of Destiny 2 again now that the Halloween event is live.
I like the Haunted forest idea though the whole thing is a bit too dark for my tastes. I'm set on grinding a ton of those lost souls or what ever the currency is called. I NEED to get that lvl 600 light assault riffle. I love assault riffles so this is a must.

I've got two games on the go: Xenoblade Chronicles on pc, and Bravely Default on 3DS. Both JRPGs but very different from each other. Enjoying both immensely at the moment.
Nice, I'm also playing Bravely Default on 3DS, Chronicles lined up for later. If I play more than one game at at time, I try to vary the genre.
Yeah, I usually do that as well. Fortunately Bravely Default and Xenoblade Chronicles are so different from each other in story, setting and - most importantly - gameplay (especially the combat systems) that it's very much a positive in this instance. Plus Bravely Default is my portable game of choice at the moment, so I can play it whenever/wherever. I was playing XC on 3DS but felt its epicness needed a bigger screen, but it's nice to know I'll have it portable if I want it at a later date. Both brilliant games, anyhow.

36 hours in now, over 70% into the main story. Wrapped up Torvin's missions and then scoured most of the map- completed the jigsaw and i've been hoovering up artifacts and doing some challenges.
STILL don't have the Brand power, but must be getting close, since I've unlocked almost everything else. The Uruk captains are getting tougher overall ( a lot of berserkers), but still pretty killable.
I'm getting some pretty epic fights, but also pretty fatigued with just chasing captains around. I definitely won't be looking into Shadow of War anytime soon.

The brand power/dominate ability is story gated.

Damn I wanna play X and Xenoblade 2 so much now.
I know the feeling, but then I remind myself that I still have a looooong way to go with the first game yet. I haven't even reached those places you mention yet

Anyway, here's a post I saw this week about the possibility of X on Switch: http://www.nintendol...ands_in_the_way

88% into Shadow of Mordor. Finished basically all side content (except for 8 more rescue missions)- all the weapon challenges, hunting and foraging. There's 4 main missions left and 3 more Warchiefs to kill, but i'm spending my time sending death threats to random captains and then killing them to try to get an epic rune. No luck so far.
I think I should have it wrapped up by the end of the weekend.

Playing Red Dead Redemption 2.
I've only played through the opening, but guys, you owe yourself to play this game if you in any way at all are a fan of Western movies and the old western/old west aesthetic. Seriously though, if the best Western movie you've ever seen was pure, uncut crack cocaine, playing this game is like cooking that shit up on a spoon and shooting the liquid directly into your veins. And I'm saying this only after playing the beginning. Play it! Just do it!

Yah, I'll get to it in 2 years or so.

I really couldn't get into the first RDR despite it being something that by all accounts I should have enjoyed. I dunno what it was but I was bored senseless after a few hours of play and I had no will to keep going.

Pro-tip. You can do what ever mission in what ever order you want but you should start out by going east and getting some kind of camera gizmo.

I've played a handful of hours of Red Dead so far. If you didn't like Red Dead Redemption one you probably won't like the second one.
This is a slow moving game that lingers. If you're not willing to take your time and just wander, this won't be for you I suspect.
But it's s damn good game so far.

Yeah, following the main plot at the moment. Just met a guy standing watch on a bridge, he says: "We're doomed! I mean, don't panic!"
Dad's Army references in Zelda? Genius.

Yeah see I don't mind that and I really wanted to love the first one but I couldn't get into it sadly. I'm glad you guys are enjoying it though, it looks stunning.

Yeah I saw a complaint that someone had made, about the time it took to walk and ride to the next objective.
Whereas I'm playing, and I love that build up. Climbing to a decent position before an attack, or a vantage to scope things out is all part of it being more real.
That's when details like crunching through snow, or seeing sunlight beaming through branches and mist all combine to make a memorable experience. I also like theway you can flip the mini map into a compass.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Only problem I have so far is the bounties. They're pretty hefty. At least for the opening game. I keep getting into problems and accidentally getting the law on my tail. It's pretty frustrating when you're low on cash.

95% into Shadow of Mordor with 3 (!!!) main missions to go. Given how finishing everything in Arkham Knight took me to like 115% of completion, I'm not surprised.
So I finally unlocked the ability to manipulate captains. It feels like this power comes too late, since I have unlocked all abilities and upgrades already and Tallion is fully capable of murdering level 20 Warchiefs without any assistance or betrayals. Right now I'm just trying to give one of the 2 remaining warchiefs 5 branded bodyguards (got 3 so far), just so that I can pick up that achievement, because I gotta make my own fun.
The entirety of the 24 "Rescue slaves" side missions were a gigantic filler/waste of time.
This system has a lot of promise and I want to see what they did with it in Shadow of War, but for this game, it's just paced poorly, imho.
Gonna try to finish this, and take a quick look at the 2 DLCs, but not sure if I'll play them yet, cuz I really want to move onto Darksiders 2.
