Oh, almost forgot. Spent £85 yesterday on a Hori arcade stick. I'll be playing MK X and BBCPEx on the X1. Come at me, bros.

Well I completed the mission in the royal palace in DA:I. I chose to save the Empress and have the duke executed. I think I have completed pretty much every mission that isn't just a "collect this" type of mission. Killed another dragon too. My main "Inquisitors Path" mission now is to, I think, go and attack Corypheus. I don't think I am going to do well. I've been fairly flukey so far...

If it's the one down near the bottom of the map, you'll have one more after it on the main quest.

I also finished the Winter Palace recently. Managed to convince all three to work together. Florianne is now my jester.

How did you manage that?I just didn't have the option.

You need over 85 court approval, and to find dirt on Empress Celene. When you get to the Royal Wing, there's a Halla door to the left before you reach the elf girl. Through there is a man who can be asked to testify. If the elf and the mercenary also get asked to testify, the option comes up.

The answers you choose are very important there. Think of the Game - misdirection, questions within questions. You lose approval for being direct and blunt, and gain it for being coy. I think I gained maybe 30 approval on my last run.

Yeah I learnt that *after* the event. It seemed like every answer I gave lost me approval so I tried different ones. I think the last 2 I gained maybe 10 points back but by then it was too late... :)

So I finished Trespasser yesterday. Holy shit, that last battle was EPIC. The music especially.

Same day, my copy of Chrono Phantasma Extend came too. Six hours spent with the arcade stick getting used to how it feels and re-learning my character. One week today, Gamma 3.0 is on in Tarn and there's another chap going to be there who plays so it's time to throw down.

G3 was great fun. Blasted out some F-Zero, Pokemon Stadium 9both on N64), some Super Mario World, Rock Band, CSEx... The minigames on Pokemon Stadium were crazy.

I bought and finished in one sitting The Beginner's Guide, made by one of the creators of the Stanley Parable. .. and.. wow.. That was something special.

Though I suspect it is not for everyone. It's most readily comparable to Gone Home, or even more so, Dear Esther. And the Stanley Parable, of course.

Just, try it. It doesn't require more than a couple of hours, if that.

Playing homeworld (remastered) for the 1st time. So far: great game! I love the graphics, atmosphere, music. And it seems to have a cool story!

I never got past that radiation field. How's the remaster in terms of gameplay?

Having mostly burned out on Witcher 3, I've surprised myself by going back to the old classic- Age of Empires 2, HD-fied in the Steam release, with a new expansion pack "The Forgotten Empires". It's been probably close to a decade since I last played AoK, so I'm rediscovering the campaigns. The plan is, play through the original, Age of Conquerors, The Forgotten Empires campaigns on Normal, in suggested order. Then snag the second expansion pack "The African Kingdoms", play the campaigns there, and then do it all over again on Hard, but also play the standalone "battle" custom scens, in chronological order.

Screenshots!

I'll have to get some tonight. Up to mission 4. Notable changes from Vanilla:

1) You can't capture the Taidaan Frigates for use as units in Mission 3 - instead you get what looks to be a full frigate's worth of RUs to spend on a Kushan Frigate.

2) It uses a modified version of the Homeworld 2 interface; resultingly it doesn't play quite as well as the engine is geared towards strike wings instead of individual strike craft. Due to this, interceptors are basically useless, strike craft don't hold formations (no claw bombing runs), and there are no evasive tactics (which really sucks).

3) Despite the above gripe, it still plays well. Salvaging is a very viable tactic in that beyond the initial Taidaan Frigates issue you can capture basically everything (I have a squad of ten captured Turanic corvettes to use as fodder).

No Claw? That sucks. I use that and Sphere to dominate.

It's there, however ships don't retain formation. So I could have an X of Heavy Corvettes, but as soon as they engage they'll break formation and pick their own targets.

Granted, it seems more realistic than what they used to do, which was sit in formation even if it got them killed. But combat seems more chaotic due to this.

Hopefully I'll be able to capture myself a bunch of Ion Array Frigates in the next mission. I remember the carrier battle in mission 5 being a painfuls to the dick.

Finished Joan of Arc Campaign. Slowly making my way through Saladin (Camels FTW!), with more horsey goodness to come with Genghis Khan campaign next.
