I think I've said enough about how terribly written I think that game was. DA:I was no literary masterpiece either, but it didn't make me twitch every time there was dialogue.

At any rate. I finished KOTOR 2, and it is such a sad thing they had to rush the ending. They barely managed to scrape something coherent together for the last 15 % or so of the game, but it was still better written and better told than most of what we see these days. Not to mention how the game was clearly meant to be the second game of a trilogy.

Alas, it is too disjointed. A patchwork of half finished scenes leading up to a finale that should have been a lot less lackluster. It is a shame, but it well deserve the criticism it received at the time of release.

Morgy, did you use the restored content mod? That one' supposed to fix it most glaring problems caused by Disney rushing Obsidian to finish.

Still, I did like the little chats with Scion and Traya at the end. It lacked the intermediate stuff, but was still enjoyable enough that I finished that game what, 5 times? 6?
Well written characters make a story, you saw it here first.

Ment: I skipped DA:2 and am just playing 3 now. There are decisions that you can make in the Sanctuary online (or whatever it is called) to get you to a point in the game or you can just default on how you start.

I don't feel like I have missed much tbh though certain things are referenced that I don't quite get but it definitely isn't a deal breaker.

I finished Dragon Age 2.

Playing this game to the end feels like walking into an ambush fully knowing the game will betray you. The game does not care about any kind of internal logic or consistency, the decisions you make feel like you are punching water because no matter what you do to influence the characters, it will fail because they exist within the childlike perspective of the teenage authors who wrote this manuscript.

With out spoiling anything and yet spoiling everything about this game I think the story can be summed up into - Not all mages are evil. I am going to do very evil things to prove this. Why are you trying to kill me? Mirrored with ALL mages are evil! I am going to treat mages like shit and make them desperate to save themselves. Why are you resisting! I knew you were evil all along!

I wish there was a mod for this game where at any point during the story, when you can see a character is obviously going to do something bad/wrong later on, no matter your choice, an extra option is added where you just ram your sword through their chest. The game would be 5 hours long and I would have had half as many companions.

I've gone back to playing New Vegas. Killed Mr House, as he had told me in no uncertain terms to blow up my homies in their bunker. So I blew him up instead.

I tried Metro 2033 as it was the GWG free game this month, but the gunplay was just utterly fucking awful, so I uninstalled (didn't get past the start of chapter 3). Iron sights is the great ruiner of all things shooty. NV only slips around it by virture of VATS.

So I played Dragon Age: Origins again.

Only playing on normal, I've done all the high difficulty stuff back in the day with a powergaming char, so no biggie. Played through as blood mage romancing Morrigan, now doing another with a human noble warrior romancing Alistair (I want that crown!).

I forgot how much fun this game was. Also that I remember most of the dialogue as they're saying it. When you skip half of most conversations due to skimming the text, it's not even that long! Only took me like a week to finish. :p

Definitely misread that as 'Futon'.

Anyway, I started anew in F:NV being that the path I'd taken became untenable and Yes Man was the only route left open to me.

This time, I'm leaning towards NCR support. And hot damn, give Veronica power armour and a ballistic fist and watch those Cazabastards fly (in pieces)!

Yeah we're not at war with them yet but I recently destroyed Carthage and Numidia so we are neighbours. I just took Rome so my legions are currently preoccupied with fighting the Scipii and Brutii.

Naturally, I destroyed Gaul first and will leave York as the last city I take. :p

I don't believe I ever managed to take Britannia. Gaul, most of Germanyland, Macedon, and encroaching towards Palestine... May have taken Alexandria. My general then went and porked some queenie.

Currently playing Ark: Survival Evolved on Steam. it is immense fun! Playing on a Primitive server (meaning no metal armour, walls or guns essentially) and its fucking brilliant! Randomly getting nuked by a guy on a mounted T Rex sucks, but it doesn't take long to set up and start getting an immense base with dinos of your own! I love this game, easily the best 'survival' game I have played, its gonna be huge! In Beta it is already one of the most played games on Steam, Dino's that you can tame and ride?! This game sells itself lol. I have found that 99% of people are really friendly too. Its very rare to be killed by the high level dudes with the best of everything. And the game is kind of self regulating, if somebody is a dooche, another high level goes and raids them so they are punished!

Thanks to Xbox Games with gold, I have started to play Metro 2033, really enjoying it so far. only negative I have is the piss poor hit detection at times, I have seen myself shooting a no-nose right in the face but nope apparently no hit. Only at about the 5th or 6th level (first one where you go to the surface with Bourbon) but rather enjoying it so far. Story seems quite solid.

I had a lot of fun with Metro 2033. The gameplay was only alright in my opinion, but that game bled atmosphere. Reminds me that I still have to go back and beat the sequel sometime.

I know it seems like every game series is going open world these days, but I'd really like to see a Metro game with a bit more freedom behind it. Wandering through subway systems with limited ammo would be exciting and terrifying.

New and final DLC for Pinquisition is coming out tomorrow, Trespasser.

Now, the Descent was somewhat fun, but short... something of a minor disappointment, also because it raises more questions than it gives answers, story-wise. Which is an infuriating thing to behold. Also the final boss was annoying as hell and favoured ranged characters to the point where mostly melee parties would have tremendous trouble beating it on Casual, while people have easily SOLOED it as ranged rogues on nightmare. Ah well.

Trespasser looks pretty awesome and action-packed. Set 2 years after Cory's defeat, it involves qunari intervention, eluvians, Solas and political struggle. Looks like it will be Getting The Band Back Together. I'm also getting slight vibes like in the Citadel DLC, climate-wise. The trailer looks spectacular. I can't wait to see what they have in stock for us!

Sort of Fallout but in the metro universe? Now that I would play. I'm enjoying the game but as you said it's more the atmosphere than game play aspect.

I couldn't get past the start of that chapter. Couldn't see the guys shooting me, and then I was dead. Repeat ad nauseum, until I got thoroughly fed up and uninstalled it. I've not played many games at all where iron sights works, and this was one of the ones where it certainly didn't.

Anyhow, I'll be getting an XBone in a few months as F4 releases on my birthday. And I have a week off. And a concrete way to get the funds together.
