Just finished Valiant Hearts - The Great War -
Setting is World War 1. Man, this game will rip out your heart and kick you in the gut at the same time. It will touch ALL the feels you can conjure. Damn, fuck war.

Rogues own. Because maxing out stealth makes you a backstabbing machine (specializing as Assasin with its 3/4 passive skills helps a lot) allowing you to oneshot many things, and then stealth again when you get crowded. You can also send your stealthed char to scout ahead almost any level, and use them as a spotter for those sweet AOE spells of mass destruction.
Stealth also REALLY helps in the Fade.
So yeah. Play as a rogue. Warriors are boring.
Also, get Shale the golem ASAP.

The cunning based rogue gets pretty ridiculous. I did the human noble run with that build and did almost 90 % of the party's total damage.

I've played through DA:O like... 5 times? And you are correct. Rogue is most fun to play and highest single target dps potential out there. Mage will mow down hordes of enemies with ease, it's especially useful against bandits and the like.
Cunning rogue will melt enemies if you can have him flank, don't even need stealth.
If you can, do try to finish Golems of Amgarrak on the highest difficulty setting. The last fight is excellent.

Lots of Destiny. More from laziness than anything else, as I have a couple other things I want to play. Still need to beat Wolfenstein, and I've been wanting to play Metro: Last Light and Divinity: Original Sin as well.

I really liked BO online and bought it again a while back. It still had around 20k people playing though the standard was alot higher with nearly everyone I played against being prestiged three or four times. This was when I had only been on a few times so was still a low rank.
Never played MW3 as the multiplayer was apparently awful as was BO2.
Finished Saint Row 4 a while ago. Enjoyable but very samey and although the powers were fun I think they made it worse than SR3.
Not sure what to play next maybe Fallout 3 as ive never played it.

Fire Emblem Awakening.
This is a lot of fun. I'm playing with permadeath on, which gives a lot of incentive to protect the weaker units and not do anything too rash without decent backup.
The battle maps are a nice size too, I can put it on for a bit in the evening, and play through one or two. I'm not sure how useful forging is at this stage as weapons all seem to degrade until they break with no repair option, so I'm saving the gold at the moment.
I like the pairing up system, once two units are closely bonded they pull some amazing combos and strikes.

Just DLed Shadows of Mordor, not had a lot of time to play it, but so far it seems like an open world Assassins Creed with slightly better combat (but the exact same combat system). More hiding/less climbing so far.
I'm rather confused by the 'boss' guys. I like that if you fight them and die, they level up. It seems like if you kill them they eventually get replaced by others?
Just scratching the surface so far, so these are my confused ramblings about the game in the first I don't know, hour? hour and a half?

I just want to mention how absurd I find it that the developers rooted the main character's name — Talion — in Latin, instead of one of Tolkien's fully-formed languages.

So, to what extent do they butcher the lore? Having grown up With a solid Tokien obsession I fear the game would be rage inducing rather than pleasurable.

Never even paid any attention to this before, and not one I would have chosen myself, but mrs T picked it up for me as we'd watched The Raid the other night and she thought I might like it.
And so far I do! Yet another title that slipped under my radar at the time - there's something about this that has grabbed me in a way gta V didn't, despite the less polished appearance and sometimes puke-making camera auto-correcting while driving.
It's got to be the story and the combat - far more Batman really; and having the items lost around the city actually do something like add health and new combat moves makes it worth looking for them, unlike other games' pointless collecting.
The Triad/Cop missions put you in a grey area a bit like Batman, the elements of which seem to blend together nicely, and Hong Kong is alive without getting in the way - in other words you can drive and knock into a few things without suddenly incurring a mystery four-star wanted level.
The combat is really fun though. It's great to be able to walk casually up to 10 thugs of differing attack styles and take them all on - fly kick one, throw one into a dumpster, hard kick and stun thr next, pick up his knife, slash the next, and so on - all knowing that one hit from behind will finish it.
Good fun at the moment anyway.

I've finally managed to create a 99% stable modded skyrim build so I'm really only playing that with a little bit of Civ: Beyond Earth mixed in for variety's sake.

I haven't touched a game in several months.
decided to try to get back into it. working on my significant backlog. started playing "Thief 2".
short term goal is to play through 2, 3, then Dishonored, and grab the new Thief in the xmass Steam sale.

The Metal Age is the best Thief game, one of those weird cases where the sequel is better than the original. I recommend going ghosting through the whole game on Expert. Lotsa fun

Deadly Shadows is kinda meh, but the Shalebridge Cradle makes it worth it.
I must admit that after several months I still haven't finished the new Thief. It's a bit rough on my hardware, and also Paradox Games are taking too much of my time.

I would recommend playing thief 4 before Dishonored, since Dishonored is in my opinion a better more agile light-stealth game than Thief 4. Mostly because you have so many more abilities and possibilities at your disposal than Thief 4.
I could never get into the original series of Theif games but I still enjoyed Thief 4 quite a bit. I played it more like a clumsy burglar than a master sneak but that's just me.

I love the old Thief games for the emphasis on positioning, patience and spatial awareness rather than fancy ninja moves. They gave me hundreds of hours of excitement with just two features - the light and sound engines.
That said, if/when I find myself with a bit more disposable income I'll have to give Dishonored a go. Maybe on the christmas steam sale.
