I always put on the stupid little sticker we get when we vote.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I'm in BC. The polls don't close for another 20 minutes. The last 2 weeks have been much more interesting. I'm intrigued to see how this all turns out. I'd also be interested to see what the final voter turnout was.

I am disappointed the Tories got their majority. I'm genuinely concerned the social conservatives will come swarming out of the woodwork and start pushing their agenda now. Ugh.

On the other hand I'm thoroughly pleased at the strong showing of the NDP and of the decimation of the Bloc. Fuck the Bloc.

Bad news for the Liberals. Ignatieff is a dead politician walking. Be interesting to see if the Liberals can ever recover.

The Green pouring all their campaigning into just Elizabeth May's riding has paid off - they finally got a real seat so they're a "legit" party now.

My riding had the big 4, Green, Marxist-Lenin Party, Communist Party, Marijuana Party and an independent!
