...EDIT: It's kinda weird that some of your news outlets had Dion losing, since he won by a ton--11 000 or so votes. Oh well. It was a CRAZY night.

probably a typo - article also ref'd Kennedy and Dryden.

The Star also raised McGuinty and Leblanc as possibilities. And Rae, but who are we kidding... unless those merger rumours....

Certainly a helluva an election. Who would have guessed this outcome when the election was called?!

funny how the current story, ie the one CBC continually loops for some reason is the one about the NDP lady who won in her riding despite never having *seen* her riding and despite spending a portion of the election lead-up on vacation in Las Vegas.

I mean, it's a ridiculous and funny turn of events, but there' s gotta be something better to talk about.

It's news, albeit silly news. She did a friend a favour and agreed to be the candidate and absolutely no one expected her to win.
Until she did. The tories and libs are bitching about it just to tear down a tiny shred of the NDP's credibility. Total storm in a teacup story, will pass.

...like Lethbridge's Mormon (Tory) MP who goes around claiming he has degrees that are, in fact, from unaccredited Mormon institutions. :)

Yeah, it's BS. Like it or not, these are the people who were elected, and they meet the minimum requirements for being an MP (over 18, Canadian, not serving a prison sentence, got the nomination in the riding). Some got lucky, and now have quite a decent wage, as well as added responsibilities. It happens--hell, it happened in '84, and lots of good came out of that. Let's focus on important things instead!

...and the Conservative backtracking on campaign promises begins. At least that's the big one everyone who didn't vote Tory knew was going to end up being thrown out the window. We just didn't expect it quite so soon. I hope this gets Conservative voters thinking about who they've just elected to run this country.
