Now, to be fair I didn't say that. You're of course welcome to pretend I said that in order to push for an Ampelas lynch. A time honoured tradition that.

Ampelas play of today though tells me he's much more likely a regular life. I guess his avatar claims were just a brain fart or some such. The problem at the beginning of any merc game is simply to get activity going. Without a common cause it's hard to get people to make sacrifices by raising their voice. Yet, we do have a common cause and that's the end of the FM(s.. ?). It stands to reason that the FM will not be a central player as those always risk lynch trains, especially in this game.

As for who it is. I can't really say at this point. I reckon a re-read is in order.

Amplease certainly has been making waves and generally looking for info without giving much. He has shown a general disregard for his own safety by calling a number of people out. Almost like he doesn't care what happens to him. Perhaps because he knows he won't be in the Ampleas alt for long? I will be interested to see What Osseric has to say because after a quick skim through to catch up, Ampleas' general attitude and the nature of his posts fit very well with what a FM would do. Last night was the Prep night, the FM knows he just has to stay alive one more day before he can jump. Amp is certainly fitting into that mold.

I have a meeting here in 30 min, but will be on the rest of the day after that.

actually, it was more of the Day 1 thing. it's been said time and time again (and proved true in hindsight) that whomever's talkig about the role he most, usually has it.

also, i'm around for next hour or so, but i'm going thru papers to find tax stuff to mail out. So, open to discussion, albeit im checking sporadically.

I was thinking along that old trend, but because Amp was aiming his accusations at me, I didn't think I was seeing things very objectively and wouldn't call him on it. Much. But now he's been bringing up fear tactics of the FM already having switched when we all know it needs to prepare first. Definitely looks like he's trying to scare us all with FM-mongering ( :<

Hmm, that's true, I guess I was expecting people to be more circumspect with throwing their vote around, as you only get one and lynching blindly gives a ~1/3 chance of hitting a teammate. Looking back it seems the primary motives from about vote 3 was to cash in for some chips? Still dunno why Tiam was picked by Korabas though, seems as though he picked him out of a hat.

Gaylord came on straight away after the Korabas vote on Tiam and basically gave a BS reason to vote for someone else. That is fishy no matter how you look at it. It was a distraction, AND his lack of reasoning behind his vote made it all the more suspicious. After the GL vote there was a legitimate reason to vote for tiam.

Yes my vote was entirely random. I wasn't joking about flipping the coin. I felt fairly confident that a purely random coin flip wouldn't take out one of the two main members of my faction. Though you are right that I could have taken out one of my teammates. But who would reveal which faction they are in? As soon as you do then roughly 2/3 of the remaining players would be gunning for you. They only way people would be willing to reveal which faction they are in is when one faction has more players then the other two combined. At that point they would control the voting block. A fake reveal wouldn't fly either at that stage because the captain would know exactly who is on their team and would know if someone if lying. I just didn't see any way to get information about anyone other than a purely random shot in the dark.

The captains do not know who is in their team, I asked the mods. They do not know who is on their team. At the moment, the faction count is 3 6 and 4 so it is close to being the majority already. However, if the captain loses a bet then one of the other factions can recruit from their team which means this is not as cut and dry as one would seem
