Yes, SM, I believe you are right. He knows exactly what he is doing. The turd.

I'm wondering if he's doing for the attention as well. He's certainly attracted a lot of it. How many of us have been to his website? Plus he got responses from some big names in fantasy literature. And I'll be back on his site to read part 2, dammit.

GRRM, the guy who gave us Rand vs Jamie Lannister, should so do this!

He should heed Mr. Miyagi and stay focused. Or else the nerdpocalpyse will reign.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I do not have enough rep to bestow what this thread deserves. Some excellent posts, guys. :apt2:

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

For me, the article loses all credibility when Grin refers to Lord of the Rings this and Lord of the Rings that. I'd just like to point out that the book he so praises is actually called THE Lord of the Rings -- get it right Mr Grin.

Don't suppose he's put up the second part of his post that he hinted at the end of the orginal?

While I'll always agree that Abercrombie's work is overhyped with poor plotting and caters to the ridiculous bloodlust in many modern fantasy readers, the overall article was ridiculous. His need to raise the old and crusties up on a pedestal tells a lot about him.

OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Oh, I'm afraid you all are mistaken. About a great many things.

Your friends, on this sanctuary forum, are walking into a trap. An entire legion of Grinnites awaits them!

Ohhhh, I'm afraid the idiocy will still be quite operational when you blasphemers arrive.

Nothing like SW to completely derail a thread.
