We've had six deaths so far - one obvious NK, one lynch and four splodeys. Two of the splodeys would be the result of the two traditional kills. The other two are what is odd though. The obvious link (there being two of them) is that they are collar-mates. Now one of them could have been a normal kill that wasn't described the way the first one was, but I'm not sure the timing works out on that. From the OP
Quote
A - If the collar is activated, you die automatically after a full day and night cycle has ended (so if the collar is activated during night 1, you live for day 2, then for the night 2, then die at the end of night 2).
B - If your collar is activated as the result of a lynch, you die at the end of the next day.
Collars are activated at the following times:
1) whenever someone is lynched, his or her connected partner's collar is activated.
2) whenever someone is NKed, his or her connected partner's collar is activated.
3) whenever a role activates a player's collar directly.
4) whenever someone dies as the result of an activated collar, his or her partner's collar is activated.
5) whenever someone's collar is deactivated, his or her connected partner's collar is activated.
Day 1:
Omtose is lynched, so B and 1, meaning his partner will die the end of day 2
Night 1:
Amp dies, looking a lot like A and 2, so partner will die the end of night 2
Day 2:
No lynch
Rashan and Korbas both explode. One of these is Omtose's partner, but where did the other come from? The only answer I can see is 3 sometime during Day 1. Meaning someone should explode at the the end of today to complete a pair.
Night 2:
GL's collar is deactivated
Liosan and Merrid both explode. Now one of these could have been an NK that wasn't written as such, the other Amp's partner. If one wasn't an NK though then things get complicated, since it would imply another direct activation during night 1.
Looking at the timing closely, the two unaccounted deaths are too close together to be a collar-pair. I seriously hope that one of Lio and Merrid was an NK, else there was an activation day one and again night one. Either way, there is at least one person who can activate collars directly and did so on Day 1. This does not feel like innocent play to me, since it is effectively a double vig very early on in the game. The only way I can see the activator being inno is that GL was linked to Rashan or Korbas and the activator saved GL after trying to vig his partner. If someone explodes at the end of the day today, I will be taking a long hard look at GL since whoever saved him was more than likely scum. Unless activation and deactivation are completely different roles, in which case I'm not 100% sure what to make of things. Either way, if there is an explosion today and then two tonight it would definitely indicate that whoever (possibly plural) is activating and deactivating collars is either incredibly reckless or scum. If there is no explosion today and only one tonight it would indicate that GL was saved, which is more likely to indicate at least an inno deactivator. Or forewarned scum.
This analysis wasn't nearly as enlightening as I hoped it would be - the numbers were bugging me and I hoped they would point in one direction or another. Without knowing what the mechanics look like it is still too much speculation to be certain of anything.
I have no objection voting Sorrit, he does seem like the best choice for today, but I'm going to hold off for now as I should be able to make it one around time-out.
Edit - crosspost with Sorrit. If he's telling the truth then it we should be expecting lots of explosions tonight
