A friend of mine said there's supposed to be 3 villains in this movie. Anyone know if this is true and if so, any info on who's the third?
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Someone more straight-up hot than girl-next-door cute. Angelina Jolie? Halle Berry, to redeem her for crappy Catwoman movie? Someone who has a bit of an edge, like Jolie. Anne Hathaway = no edge.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I hope that's not true - that's what killed Spidey 3.
And if I see Christian Bale with Hitler hair, I am gone...

Oh god, I would so not watch the flick if Halle Berry or Jolie were catwoman. Neither fits with the character at all...
We are most likely getting a realistic version of this style catwoman:

So....now put THIS into that outfit....

...and I don't see next-door cute anywhere around do you?

I wonder what route they're going to take with the Muscles and the compound. They could go the Hulk route and make it all CGI obviously super-human stuff, or perhaps the subtler tack of slightly enhanced reality. What I'm envisioning for the latter is Hardy being only slightly bigger, much faster and maybe more pain resistant, while focusing on Bane's using his intelligence to neutralize Batman's advantages.
I think they'll go with the slightly stronger than normal person version a la Captain America. It makes more sense in the Dark night universe than a clearly superpowered bane

Agreed. I think the Nolan-verse definitely lends itself better to a stronger than average guy, not superpowered.

Regarding the Villain count in the film. Dark Knight had the Joker, Two-Face, Scarecrow and a large cast of gangsters. I don't think handling many different villains at once will be problem.

Here is a very succinct and accurate portrayal of who Bane is as a character, and why I think Nolan chose him...and why I cheer that choice.

It relies heavily upon my old Knightfall novelization! Wow!
What that book was really good at doing was emphasizing the process of grinding Batman down that Bane enacted upon by releasing the Arkham inmates. Smartest thing any Batman villain has ever done.
I'm very sure that the Knightfall storyline will not be followed in this movie. The Scarecrow already released all the prisoners in the first movie and Batman is supposedly on the run from Gotham now. Unless Bane moves in and seizes control of Gotham in Batman's absence, it probably has to be a story set outside of Gotham.

This is totally the way I see it going storywise.

Jolie could possibly pull it off if she dropped her smirk, and if they had the guts to not shop the tattooes away. Halle Berry is overrated and completely lacks any edge whatsoever, she just bares her teeth, creases her forehead and pulls up her eyebrows when she needs to act emotion, any emotion whatsoever... the female version of Tom Cruise.
Anne Hathaway, yes, I can see her in the role, outside of a glamour dress and in a cat suit. If Nolan can see it, so can I

As a replacement, well, Michelle Rodriguez could be believable... there may however be too much of a gunslinger tough chick surrounding her, not to mention the strings of B-movies where she has a supporting role.
Wouldn't mind Ali Larter, either, myself - think she did a good job acting out different persona in season 1 of Heroes, but she might be not enough of an A-actress to pull the public in.

Rodriguez would probably just die as a martyr though, like she does in everything else. LOL!
Larter, according to a friend of mine in the industry who worked with her on the Final Destination flicks, is apparently an intolerable pill to work with and has to be edited to look like she's acting well. Apparently anyways.

Catwoman's supposed to have a smirk. That's my main concern with Hathaway, I'm not convinced she can pull off the arch demeanour I associate with Selina Kyle... I don't think Jolie would have been the right pick, but it's her smirk as much as her curves that would have put her in the frame in the first place, imo.
Rosario Dawson should totally have done it...

I think jolie would be an absolutely terrible choice. But that maybe because I find her quite tedious as an actress and absolutely boring as a supposed "hot" woman. Sure, Hathaway is, shall we say tainted, by roles such as princess diaries and ella enchanted. But she's certainly not boring. She seems to me to be quite adept at the thespian arts and seems less obnoxious and overrated than Jolie.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Cool, I have that novelisation on my shelf too. It's not bad.
Nice to see the new writer seems to have shown a genuine interest in re-elevating him above the lackeys, henchmen and mooks like he should be.
I reiterate my desire for the inclusion of Talia al'Ghul. Because can you imagine how fucking HOT the inevitable fight between her and Catwoman would be?

Oh, yeah, and she's a cool and complex "villain" as well with her own little Bat-agenda (initiated by her Daddy, but there's an issue we won't go into), the results of which showed up in the comics a little while ago.

You neglect the fact that Jolie can't act her way out of a paper bag....

What the hell is with the sudden hatred of Angelina Jolie in this thread? She's not hot? She can't act? Wut? Is this neckbeard rage because of Tomb Raider or what is going on? Sure she does a lot of the typical shit action flicks, but she's proven that she can act in more serious flicks.

I'm curious to see how Anne Hathaway will work out as an action hero. But she is the right balance of good actress, pretty hot and not a massive name (i don't associate any previous roles with her, and she isn't an attention hog either, so it will be all about the role). An actress like Jolie would bring way too much baggage to the role. Better going for a decent actress that isn't as mainstream a name.
However, when i see her being chosen for the role, and thinking purely in terms of hotness, I'd prefer to have seen Eva Green (from Casino Royale) play the part. She could really fill out that suit, and can also do the knowing smirk. Whether she could act the role or do the action believably i couldn't say.

Don't worry, I don't hate her and my dislike of her is not new. I just don't think she's a very good actress. I saw last in Salt where she, in my opinion, delivered a barely adequate performance, which was her best in years.
I liked tomb raider, but for other reasons than Jolie.

Agreed. I like Tomb Raider as well, just not for her.
BoD: Totally right, them going with Hathaway is good because of her status as an actress, and her relative obscurity in the tabloids ect. Jolie's baggage would have made this flick a bloody circus.
I also like the comment about Eva Green. I love her and would LOVED to have seen her in this role. She owns any roles she takes part in, especially Casino Royale, and as Serafina Pekkala in The Golden Compass even.
