Yea, about 100,000 words shorter..... but bigger still than Gardens, Deadhouse and Midnight Tides. Which is cool.

Does anyone know if he meant finished as in its been proofed and everything, ready for the publisher? Or that he's finished (the drafts) but still needs to get it proofed and edited down?

Don't you read the incessant whining of the naysayers? He doesn't have an editor!

Probably finished the first draft. That means atleast 6 months of editing etc. September at the earliest for a release.

Still as Abyss has said a bumper harvest of Malaz this year. Also a good year for both SE trilogies as OST will likely lay the foundations for the Toblakai trilogy and Forge of Darkness should allow for atleast some themes to be identified for the rest of the Kharkanas one.

Nice to see that Erikson's idea of slowing down after finishing tMBotF is writing a 300,000 first part of a trilogy. This will no doubt be very enlightening regarding a period in the Tiste Andii's past we have only ever been given fragmengts of, but it would also be most delightful to actually get some clarity regarding Draconus' origins.

Damn straight they do. I honestly thought I'd have nothing much other than OST coming soon, the prospect of a new Erikson book so soon is making me super giddy.
