I think a less skilled Batman is more interesting - the smaller constraints of the character force the writer to get clever and allow for more "danger" to creep into the story by giving the villains a real chance to win. Batman should win by being enough of a generalist that he can take fights and strategies to where the villain is weak, rather than outmatching them at their strength.

Hellboy gets his ass whupped every single fight and often wins just by being durable and having friends do things. Or alternating between being luckily clueless and deceptively clever.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I know I'm way behind on these updates, but just saw where Khal Drogo is gonna play aquaman. I had serious reservations about any attempt at including the aquaman character, but at least this is a bonus to look forward to.

I also thought including catwoman was a huge mistake, but they pulled it off quite well, so maybe they'll surprise me. I just don't see how they're going to do it.

He's certainly got the look (though I'm not sure how the blonde is going to suit him)...but his only acting that I've seen was GoT (in which he speaks a made up language and roars and yells)...and the CONAN remake which was...abominable. So I HOPE he could pull off Arthur...but I WILL say that Arthur being in it at ALL makes me very happy. Aquaman can be the coolest damned character when handled correctly (see: his current comic run).

Recent murmurs Momoa's camp seem to indiciate that his Arthur will be an anti-hero...and I see this being in line with the current New52 Aquaman who is pretty angry with humanity and how they treat the oceans.

Either way, pretty cool. I'd like his role and Aquaman's entrance to be at the tail end....something to look at for the next film that shows up in the last few minutes.

So, just watched it. GF fell asleep about the time the showdown started, but I thought this was even kind of good, even great if you consider it's the most boring superhero ever as base for the reboot. Certainly a lot better than I expected. The action was exquisite.

I give it a solid 8 New York Wastelands out of 10.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr stab! Wolverine can't die! Wolverine is grumpy, and then Wolverine saves the day! Usually by jumping at it with his claws out!


Much like Superman, all the potential is there for Wolverine to be an amazing character and sometimes it works but writers find it far too easy to just join the dots of usual Wolverine tics and do the minimum possible work.

Found a Bluray combo pack of MAN OF STEEL at Half-Price Books. I have been meaning to purchase this ever since it came out, and 50% off plus another 20% off finally gave me an excuse. The discs are pristine - looks like the original owner just bought it for the digital copy and sold off the discs. Thus allowing both of us to own the movie for cheap :p

So of course I had to watch it immediately, and it's every bit as awesome as I remember. Damn I love this movie. A movie truly worthy of its subject.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Agreed. No amount of re-watching (I think I've done so at least 4 times now) has dampened my enjoyment of it.

Just the fact that it features super-people getting punched through buildings made Man of Steel a classic for me. There certain things you want from a superhero movie and I daresay I think Man of Steel is the first to come through on a lot of the things fans have wanted to see translated from the pages onto the big screen.

Agreed. MoS and TDK fullfill my DC dreams of superhero films, and THOR and AVENGERS (and CAP 2 now) fullfill my Marvel ones.

All though the logos look real I think the rest is fake. That screen setup is goofy.

Alternatively this could either be studio testfootage or a videogame in the works.

Yep, confirmed as fake a few hours later. The LEGENDARY logo appears, and they are no longer a part of the franchise.

Still, I like the idea of Batman watching that transmission.

Nah. Carano's got the warrior, but not the princess. Gadot looks like she could be both.

Plus I mostly like the costume, within the bounds of the chainmail bikini superhero costume silliness, though even taking that into account it could have done without the heels.

Outfit is great and I'm glad they went with the armor skirt.

The boots though...have heels. That is about as stupid as it comes. Everything else looks great.
