When? In the cartoons (which I haven't really watched)?
Coz it's certainly never been done in live action, the way I'm on about.

No, I'm saying that it seems like they are going for a Rosenbaum (SMALLVILLE) portrayal of the guy, as opposed to every other version of Luthor who has ever existed...the SMALLVILLE version is kind of the only time that they've ever done a somewhat likeable Lex who is dangerous enough to GO bad....and I think we are getting a branch off that tree...meanwhile every portrayal of him since the 40's has been the Arch-Villain stereotype.

Eisenberg as Luther. If nothing else, I'm very interested in seeing how he approaches it. Good or bad, it's at least intriguing.

Know what would have been nice for the role? Seeing Rosenbaum get the call-up to the big leagues to do the role back in the movie Kevin Spacey was in. He really made Lex Luthor fresh again (even as Smallville drove off half its fans by becoming a trainwreck in the middle before apparently getting somewhat back on track in the late stages) and very understandable in his development, particularly with John Glover's Lionel Luther hovering around him.
I jumped off the Smallville train when it went bad and never went back. But it would have been a great thing to see Rosenbaum try to rescue that bad story they hung on Lex in that movie with some more charm and belief in the role.
Eisenberg's young enough that he can do what Rosenbaum did (the latter's over 40 now) and matches up well.

He's not as manic as Luther has been deliberately played in the past, but he's a twitchy sort of actor. Luther should be a lizard.
Actually I am with QT on this, Eisenbergs Zuckerberg in the Social Network was very lizard like. He was practically inhuman in his sociopathic mildly autistic observations of other people.
I reckon he could play a pretty scary, cold and calculating sort of super villain. He already seems sort of disturbing. I wonder what he looks like bald though, which is kind of important.

Most of you have likely seen this already, but ZAck Snyder tweeted a photo of Afleck in the new batsuit next to the new Batmobile.

I like it. It's VERY Frank Miller-esque, if not spot on for that costume.
I wonder how much colour will be present?
Also, Affleck fills it out well.

Actually, I liked that bit. It's like muscle fibers...it's a really gritty way to design a suit from Bruce's perspective.
And the ears are either Frank Miller or Lee Bermejo....either way I'm happy because we've had long bat ears for every incarnation so far in film. I'm pleased to see something so outside of (but pressed right up against) the box.

Those ears make him look more like the catman than the batman.
I find the design of the suit interesting though. Towards the end of the Nolan films, Batman practically looked like he was inside an armored suit/power armor. This looks more raw. It makes him seem more vulnerable but the "muscular" design also makes him look unnerving.

I have never understood those who criticize the Bat-ears.
A more accurate anatomical reproduction would end up looking like this:

Is that what you want? Die Fledermaus and brilliant one liners? Cuz that's how you get The Tick.

<aybe its canonical and if was Miller that ties in with the Returns theme but it reminds me of the stunted ears from Watchmen.
Regarding the WW debate- Yes shes maybe a bit thin atm but judging from the interview shes enthusiastic and confident and probably wants to get in shape for the role. 6 Months with a pt and she might be ok. As for her acting ive only seen her in Fast and the Furious which isnt a good vehicle (pun intended) for acting.
Could quite easily be the role that makes her. Ledger aside how keen were we all on the bloke from the immortals playing Superman?

Press release busted out the official title today.
BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE.
Ugh.
Okay:
A. If it's VERSUS...make is VS, not V. V makes it sound like court litigation.
B. Don't maker it VS at all in fact. That's pretty stupid, and I HONESTLY thought that was going to be a placeholder till they decided on a good title.
C. Supes and Bats names don't even NEED to be in the title. Call it WORLD'S FINEST and have done with it!
D. I get that you want people to know you are fastracking a Justice League movie...but DAWN OF JUSTICE? Really? Beyond being a mouthful on the tail end of a stupid VS title...was there no justice BEFORE?
E. I hate everything about this.

Worlds finest is first of all a terrible title for a Summer Blockbuster.
Second of all Worlds Finest does not tell the audience anything. Superman vs Batman on the other hand is a title that will ensure anyone and everything immediately recognize the name and premise.
I do find it strange that the emphasis is on those two if Wonderwoman and possibly other heroes also feature in the film. Should probably have turned it around and called the movie Dawn of Justice: Superman vs Batman.

Why are people stuck on the titletelling the audience something?
Did you know what THE MATRIX was about before seeing it? How about JUPITER ASCENDING....any idea what it was before the trailer dropped? No? What about BABE? PROMETHEUS? ARGO?....all of these are titles that without any visuals or a synopsis don't tell you squat.
A movie title doens't have to feature anything in it that tells you what it's about...that's what the screen is for (trailers and actual movie). They could have called this anything and as long as ther trailer has Bats and Supes in it...everyone who isn't asleep would know what it was.
And WORLD'S FINEST is what the old Bats Supes comic was called when they teamed up originally, and it's excellent and widely accepted as a good title for the first live action movie with them both...google it.

But we're not talking about Comicbook readers here.
We're talking about brandrecognition and maximizing profits. Worlds Finest is not a great title for anything. At all. Maybe a raisin company or something.
Superman and Batman, and their logos, are instantly recognizable and have great cultural saturation that means everyone from kids to grandpas will know who the movie is about. They aren't catering to comic book fans, they want the wider audience. The ones who watched all the superman and batman movies over the past decades.
The image with Batman and Superman and the Worlds Finest title looks neat but what about when it gets mentioned on the radio or you see the title on the programme in the newspaper, etc.? It doesn't work like Superman vs Batman does.

Worlds Finest is a title that'll probably appeal to the, what, 500,000 regular comic readers worldwide? As opposed to the literal millions and millions who like Batman and Superman without being invested in the history.
Besides, being targeted at comic readers isn't necessarily a sign of quality.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
