Why do you guys want sand?

@Trull's Son - Just mark your place, no one will bother it - especially any diamonds you might have...

Because minecraft sand is lovely:

- Can be used to easily remove large sections of water, since it can be placed at the top and will drop down.

- Can be made in to glass! Glass is awesome!

- Will eventually be much sort after since you need four sand to make a block of TNT!
The flip side is that you don't end up with loads just in the course of normal mining, like you do with cobblestone and earth. You kind of have to intentionally farm it, which can be tedious.

kanubis

was checking out your fort the other night.

Is that big pit a monster spawner of your own? It's pretty cool.

I got trapped in it.

EDIT - Do not worry about sand. That desert region is BIG. There is more sand there than I care to think about shoveling.

I would not worry about availability. Just don't deplete my nice beach by moon spawn...I want to do something cool there.

Yeah, it's kind of one. No idea how it'll work, but it doubles as a fairly aesthetically-pleasing feature anyway. Sadly, because (as Apt has pointed out previously) the level of lighting in my area is somewhat on the heavy side, I'll probably have to put a roof over it to make it dark enough to really work.

At the moment it traps a lot of bloody chickens though!

Hey guys, working with Trull's son found a spot for homemade desert, two questions. 1) how do you quote somebody? haha i honestly don't know how. 2) when do you next plan on posting a giant map shot again? just curiosity :)
Thus the tableau was set.

I'm happy to do maps whenever Slippery Jim provides a backup, but remember he's hosting this out of his own pocket and doesn't even get much time to play himself, so I'd be reluctant to pressure him to do so with any regularity.

If you want to know why I want sand, come take a look at the progress at my water dome. I am 66% finished draining out the water inside the perimeter, and I've probably used 10 inventory fulls of sand at least (and as such there are some very empty looking beach areas in the area past the dome).

bah, all I get is connection timed out... I seem to get in the world, but there's nothing there, as if it's loading the world, and then I'm just time out.

Is anyone able to get on to the server?

I am having the same problem as Morgoth.

Kanubis had the same problem a while ago I think, I was able to teleport him to my position and that seemed to help him.

If anyone is online, I might be able to teleport myself to their location and solve the problem...

I've had this today. I find entering /home in to chat and then waiting about a minute works - the world loads in, slowly!

Same here. Not logging in, just timing out at each attempt.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Me too:veryangry:
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

boo. Hopefully back up soon.

Notch's world says some server updates are on the way...esp the one that stops respawning blocks.
