Apt, I'll try and upload the file to a proper file sharing site. Edit: THis link works, but you'll have to wait, and it'll give a 'stop flooding server' message to try and guilt you in to getting a 'pro' account!

In the meantime:

is it possible to get an underground map or something? I'd be curious to see how the area beneath Apt's and my place looks.

You can, but it's much easier to do it yourself. You want to download the map file from Jim and MineVeiwer app.

In the meantime, you can tell us why you've been planting trees far underground!:

Nice pic of the map. I'm responsible for that arm going way off to the right I think.

Slight nerd-chill seeing how visible my precious canal is on that map too.

I think I've finally sorted it out. I'll give the server another go in the morning and see what happens.

IT WORKS! I'm officially on and will start building later sometime. I do get a lot of lag though, that appears to get worse the longer I'm connected...and it seems to build up very quickly too. But never mind!

Thanks for the resources, Apt -- much appreciated.

Awesome Green Pig :D

Ok then, working from Apt's picture, I've circled places in Blue that are possible development areas from which you could be linked to the Skypath fairly easily. If you choose to build anywhere near the Azath, be very careful - there's a HUGE underground cavern for the monster trap, so you'd have to be really careful about digging. Like, really careful. And don't go near the Azath with a tinder and flint even equipped!

Posted Image

You might well have more freedom building to the right or lower down. Obviously there are just suggestions - you could go miles away if you chose, it's just a matter of if you want to be linked to the central area or not.

I'm currently trying to extend the transport links. The underwater tunnel you can see to the southeast now doubles back and skirts around to the west of Moon;s Spawn, so could easily go south further. I plan to send it north to a terminal near the start of the grand canal - and add a Skypath access point there so it's essentially a genuine transport hub.

Edit: Regarding my bit, anything outside the walls, even a single block is fair game, and I'm happy to collaborate on any 'joint' ideas you come up with in that area!

@ Green Pig - Congrats, Remember when picking your spot - the farther from the spawn point you go, the more of a pain in the butt it is to get home when you teleport back to spawn, build a path ASAP

@ Kanubis - Can you make a map picture at night?

I've got to get the underground map program.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

@GP.

I still need to do some more canal work, to connect up gunslinger mountain. If you mark where you're building on the map and it isn't too ridiculously far away I can hook you up too while I'm at it.

Man, was super hung over yesterday on top of a cold and wanted to do some building while suffering. The server block respawn pretty much breaks the game for the moment. Anybody else having huge trouble with it or is it just on my end?

Also, boats are still not working right. They go in fits and starts and refuse to turn smoothly.

And some crazy folk building north of that:

Edit: These images were made with mcmap - it's nice and fast, you can specify the memory it's allowed to use, and perhaps best of all you can have it render only a section to make it more manageable. However you have to specify the area to render with coordinates, and 0,0 is the current centre of the discovered world, so you need to play about a bit - at the moment the nearest structure to 0,0 seems to be Apt's Aquatic Mentalist Sphere.

GP seems to have chosen an area north east of my sea dome, since he wanted a secluded area to go nuts in.

Also the portal on the mountain is mine. I got lost while out travelling and decided to make a base with a portal in it. The sea structure on the right must be D'rek. Strange, I was so close, and yet I never found it.

EDIT: In other news, a lazy day home on the couch means that I have emptied out almost one quarter of the water in the sea dome now.

When I finish my exams I'm going to build a giant cathedral at the current point of my never-ending tunnel (just past the top right corner of the map I believe, you can just see the lights of the different emergence points on the way).

The cathedral will be dedicated to me, the ender of all exams.

Your directions are confusing. I think north is towards the bottom-left of those maps (the direction the clouds move)?

My directions where simply in regards to the picture as a map.

The sea dome is indeed pointing south and Tapper and ESGunslingers area is north.

I don't know where I am in relation to everybody else. I've hardly started so you won't be able to see much on the map, but I'm going to dig a large circular pit first, then I'll look at paving the way back to the spawn point.

Instead of paving the way, you should just build a connection to the skyway.

That and the sea ways should be more than enough.

That picture of my underground is weird though. I've got that entire mountain riddled with tunnels. They're everywhere. I just don't see how most of it is pictured as just a grey wall.

Also, underground trees are in vogue. It is known.

Speaking of, how come Trull's Son never posts in here? We know you're on the server, come and speak of your masterful creations!

As to Morik, I have no problem with it, but Jim's got the final say. I'd send him a PM just to be sure.

CodeGamers.com do not like Minecraft...

Seriously, check out the follow-up links underneath as well, I think this guy might have lost the plot slightly...
