That roof wasn't so hard after all, I just followed it round and connected it all and it was fine. I'm hoping it's all consistent too, though it's difficult to tell.

EDIT: Thanks for the tip Amphibian, though I've only just noticed it! xD

I have finally found gold, but on the other side was a massive cavern w/ zombie groans, so I closed it back up for later. Has anybody got a time for day/night cycle? By the time I get to the bottom of my caves, its too late when I go back up.

Also, a mapping feature would rock so hard.

I've only found about 10 iron so far, I need more to make better gear. I feel the need to go kill something.

You guys are playing this game on a scale I haven't grasped yet. Congrats.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

The castle, with multiple cordoned off mine shafts in different wings is complete.

As is the Lava Moat and the giant tower covered with torches that is my hoaming beacon.

Can I make Obsidian Tools? Because unbreakable armor/weapons would be awesome, but it dosen't seem to wrok.

I think that days/nights are around 8 minutes long, but that's just a personal guess as I haven't timed it.

Personally, the features I want to see are a map of what you have explored (within 15 or so blocks from where you've actually stood) and a compass - and not just the one I've seen that always points back to your spawn point. I want one that marks the cardinal directions - it can't be that difficult since the sun and moon always rise in the same place.

Btw, I have now hooked my roommate on the Minecrack.

Everything I've done so far is underground, and twists and turns or is just hollowing out. I build a shitload of chests to store stuff in, but actually create... doesn't seem my thing.

I was just checking the last dark corner of a pathway to make sure nothing was hiding down here.

Nice. Yesterday I was exploring a new branch of my Mega Cave when two Creepers rushed me from the front. I dispatched those two and when I turned around there were 3 more running for me. I dispatched them with some sword and arrow kung-fu then turned again to end a 6th one that was trying its eponymous creeping. Such a rush, and entirely unexpected.

They always come in packs don't they.

Yesterday I fought a creeper up close and killed it, quickly looked behind me and caught another one with my bow. I was really proud that I foiled it. And that was when a third creeper came from behind and blew me up.

Clever girl.

I thought creepers couldn't be killed.

Also, I must have made somebody mad. I logged in on my work computer (sorry, boss) and it froze up for about the 4th time, so I ended my session with Windows End Task.

When I came back, it was DAYTIME, and here came 4 burning, flashing zombie things straight for me. So, I ran past them to see no less than 3 creepers in front of me, I go right, and there a several more scattered across the horizon.

I need to figure out how to play offline, maybe the freeze ups would stop.

If you don't kill creepers, where do you get your gunpowder? I think that's what I've got. anyway..

I'm going to try and and have an evening NOT on minecraft tonight...
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Why didn't I start closer to this area?

I'm almost tempted to relocate from my grassy knoll. Still, this is more than a days travel from my spawn point.Attached File  Picture 1.png (1.19MB)

Oh yeah, lacking stone I went to the bottom of the shaft I mentioned previously to do some digging. One block and I was through into another massive cave section. Having explored it for perhaps half an hour, among other things crossing a massive underground lake, I suddenly came across light streaming from a tiny hole at the very end of a tunnel. Naturally I assumed it was lava but peeking down I discovered a torch.

It turns out that the absurdly large cave system I explored some days ago was even larger than I first thought :s.

Sufficient to say, I now have almost a chest full of coal alone.

I really need to learn a lesson from the dwarves of Moria. I keep delving too greedily and too deep.

Some more pictures.. I've been exploring so much I've yet had time to truly develop my home. It's not nearly as grand as the previous one, but it has its own cozy charm.

I wanted to gauge how addicted I'd get if I bought it, so I played the free bit for a while last night, just to get a flavour.

3 and a half hours later, I'd built an absolutely enormous bridge, Khazad Dum style, dug out ecerything underneath it for ages so it spanned a huge crevasse, and then started building a massive wall around the sea nearby.

This game would be the death of me. The alpha leads to insomnia ffs, the beta would just make me die from forgetting to eat.
