An Aztec Hot Chocolate, please, if it's no trouble.

No problem, one Aztec hot chocolate coming up.

Also, last night bought beer. Went out to a friend's place. Watched "Fist of Fury" followed by Steven Seagal's "Against the Dark" while one of our friends played Shogun Total War on his laptop and made random comments.

Someone text me at 3.30am, waking me from a delightful booze induced unconsciousness. Now I can't nod off again! Taking the opportunity to catch up on some documentaries I've been meaning to see, but I'm horrifically sober and tired now, so I'd appreaciate some sort of odd gin and sleeping pill cocktail combo please!

In poor health, as always! Was at a house party til 7am this morning, fucking shattered. I do not recommend drinking that much (or indeed, any) Fosters, even if it's free. But it was that or Tesco Premium lager, so whatever. And I managed to persuade a coach driver to give me a lift home, which was nice.

I've never heard of Tescos, but if you chose it over Fosters it must be vile.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Tesco is probably about as close an equivalent to the British Walmart as we have - in short, not known for their brewing skills....

Wedding planning is complicated. It's amazing how trying to keep it small and simple is incredibly difficult in the planning.

B)

Wedding planning????

Two days ago I did something very big and very stupid. Alright, stupid isn't the right word.

I got engaged.

In terms of nervousness, this was the worst I've ever had to deal with. Now I consider myself to be relatively cynical, but somehow the idea of proposing still carries a huge weight.
Decided to infuse a little romanticism into the whole thing. I took her out for tea then for a nice walk out through the old city. I stopped her near the ramparts that overlooks the old port and river.
I pointed out some random boat on the river and got down to one knee while she wasn't looking.

The ring was easy, she hates all things gaudy. Still sets me back for a bit. Took about a month to have it made since it wasn't on display. Nice little fragile thing.

Anyway, when she turned around I got one of the best memories I will ever have. Her eyes swelled and she almost tackled me. Some bystanders let out shouts of congratulations. It took about a second to realize she was repeating yes while trying to squeeze the life out of me.
We sat down on the base of cannon and just enjoyed the view for a bit while I explained when I had begun planning the proposal.

That night we told her parents, I called mine. My mom got very emotional and my dad was was trying to hold himself together, badly I might add. My step mom was happy and my step dad asked if he could plan the bachelor party. I have yet to accept a thing on that end.

Planning started yesterday and has already become a headache. We've got time though. The marriage is planned for January. I insisted on a wedding in the heart of Winter. She doesn't mind, which is of course why I proposed.

Congrats!
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
