You mix spices (cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla extract in this case) into the butter.

Centz, do you want to meet at the Tea Centre after work and have Devonshire Tea with Masala and ENORMOUS delicious tasty scones with jam and real cream and maybe Lucifer's Heaven has remembered to bring your GURPS print-outs so he can meet us there and give them to you?

How cheesy do you want this?
I'm running a game with a backwards Martian redneck who hates dwarfs who rides a giant Adonis retard in powerarmour that fights with a shovel.

150 points is a lot, haven't used the magic in GURPS yet.

We're limited to TL3 in a fantasy medieval style setting, with no psyonics.... so I'm not sure the alien would work

I want to be a lightening mage! (I am the other twin :))

Oh, to begin with. I thought you guys were leveling up.

Really only 150? Guess the GM wants you guys heavy on disadvantages to balance the magic.

My main suggestion is to go after your magic enabling advantages then build up a lot of FP to use it. Use your starting points for that.
As for disadvantages you guys will need some cheesy yet effective ones so the GM allows them. The points bought here will beef up your skills/spells.
Addiction is always fun, my friend's engineer is addicted to Coca-Cola and gains the disadvantage Callous if he goes 24 hours without.
Kleptomania, hamfisted, delusions, etc...

I'd try and help out more, but with out extra info my suggestions can only be vague.

edit:
Oh, there's no aliens in my game, human tequila farmer from Mars.

How did the GM set up the magic system?

Both born mages (as will happen with twins), but while Centz wants to zap baddies with her lightning my character instead wields a greatsword and only uses magic involuntarily, in emergencies.

That's the plan, anyway

Edit: GM is still working on the mechanics, not sure about the details at this point.

Hum... in that case. If he's using the basics of the GURPS-magic system then do the following (If not, then wait for the complete details) :

Centz should increase her Magery advantage as high as she can afford. And go after the spells she wants (may have to convert a good many fire spells into lighting spells). Increase your HT for maximum FP and HP to fuel your spells.

You, Shiara, should start at 1 and aim for body control spells to enhance your fighting. Then you want to buy a good amount of Greatsword skill. Also you might want to make your DX slightly higher at the beginning.

Also: playing fourth edition, if that helps / clarifies.

It looks like Centz will need to buy six air spells before she can get even the basic lightning one. What's this about fire spells? Are they the default, or something?

Note that I know nothing about GURPS but if there isn't a method of allowing Centz hitting Shiara's greatsword with a lightning charge for some kind of (quick Illy what's the cheesiest name you can thin- ah I know) BOLT BLADE shenanigans then all of you failing at nerding.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Illy, my character's reflexive mage talent will probably manifest in some sort of blazing-sword-smash attack when she goes berserk, so don't worry, we will be Nerds of Win (or I will, at least ).

Got the same edition.

Been reading through the rules for magic. They're all treated as IQ/Hard skills to be bought separately, but you add your Magery level to your IQ when buying so I'd suggest getting a good base IQ and building the rest up with Magery which costs less.
With only 150 points this is going to be a low level start, unless you guys take on a ton of disadvantages.

Yeah, the only lightning spell in the main book is in the Air school and is the last one. What I meant about converting the fire spells was for your GM to just make them act the same but with lightning instead of fire to allow more variety to Centz so she doesn't get stuck casting "Create air" all the time.

As for your reflexive magic, you might want to ask if it will reduce the spell or FP cost since you can't do it proactively.
