Looks great! And just when I was considering slowly retiring from gaming. I'll have to try this one.

Also, this bodes great for Thief 4, which is also being developed by Eidos Montreal.

Samuel L. Jackson Plays Black Ops


It's funny because my experience playing BLOPS is exactly like this (minus the Samuel L. Jackson sound bites). Rarely have I joined multi-player and there was not a parade of stoned losers playing this game. Still, I am leaning towards getting the Escalation pack.

'Portal 2 finds a way to offend'

Neal Stapel, adoptive father to Zoey, a Chinese orphan, says he was upset with the barbs slung by Portal 2's antagonists, insults that belittle the playable Chell for her (alleged) adopted status. Morons and the overweight are also mocked by robots.

In Portal 2, Chell's arch-nemeses tease her for her non-existent weight gain and her lack of birth parents, puerile, bullying taunts that offer color into their respective characters. But the jabs at her being adopted were too much for Stapel.

"It literally pokes fun for not having parents," he says, seeming to choke up in WBTV's news broadcast. He played the PlayStation 3 version of Portal 2 with his kids, but stopped when the adoption jokes kicked in. "It throws the ultimate question that that child is ever going to have for you... and it just throws it right in the living room."

Yes, it's got to be a bit awkward for adoptive parents if they're experiencing this in front of their non-biological kids, but Chell's enemies are also trying to kill her, which I'd find much more upsetting if I were her. But, hey, I wasn't adopted and can't personally relate to the conflicting emotions of such a situation.

Kotaku reached out to Valve to see if they had any comment on the matter, though they didn't before this story aired, reportedly.


I find it funny that the guy is getting so riled up but the kid doesn't seem to care at all. She didn't even hear it ffs, yet he's going on TV talking about how offensive it is, making damn sure that she will notice it.

I'm savoring Portal 2 very slowly, about 3 levels every time I play, but so far, GLaDOS is remarkably restricted in her comments on my performance. In Portal 1, she was already bad shit crazy after 15 puzzles, now she's still commenting on the music and how I'm being slow in between levels.

Yeah, I haven't even got to start Portal 2 yet (BLASPHEMY!) 'cuz I've been too poor and too busy. *sigh* I will get it soon, however. Then it will be all I do for a day. Or two. Or more. :D

Finally finished S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

bought Clear Sky already. I WANT MOAR!!!!

I also need to go back, since I rushed the last few areas. basically, once I went into
Spoiler
, I assumed I couldn't go back, so I rushed all the way to the ending.

and I have no proper saves, except for before the Barrier, so it's a huge chunk that I need to replay.

I love that game to death though. for a few weeks I've honestly wanted nothing but just wander around, doing small side quests, and enjoying the scenery.
The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard

Finished Knights of the Chalice today. Final optional fight is hard as hell, don't think I'll be beating that any time soon, so I'll settle with completing the main quest.

Phenomenal game - not that it's saying much, but definitely one of the RPGs of the decade. Get it if you have any interest whatsoever in tactical RPG combat.

Played God of War and... what's the deal with this game's popularity? The changing camera angles, combined with the frequent balance and/or jumping sequences, is incredibly infuriating. I've come very, very near to throwing the gamepad at my TV a dozen or more times. I even refused to play on halfway through Challange of Atlas. It's the worst gameplay element from LoK: Defiance, and I only ever played through Defiance because it's a Legacy of Kain game and I loved the story.

The only part of the GOW games that really piss me off is the quick time events. Especially when it wants me to do some kind of bizarre circular motion with the analogue sticks. Fuck everything about that.
