Played the Trials of Mana demo.
Manly tears of joy were shed. It's everything it should have been. And I am pre-ordering it.

Venom was a given after the post credits scene in the first game. Carnage is a surprise. I don't think I want him in a modern game since I don't think they can do him justice in a PG13 game. Also Carnage should not be introduced alongside Venom. You first need to establish who and what Venom is to appreciate the ramp up Carnage was. Then again this games Venom is a completely different thing from the comic I suspect.

Half-Life: Alyx is getting some mighty good reviews. I really wish I had the space and money for room scale VR.

The story that neither Microsoft or Sony are going to release next gen consoles this year is gaining momentum.

Who knows, could happen.
In theory, everything that comes after April is fair game for delay announcements.
Honestly, though, I have too many games to play as is, so I might not be overtly upset. As much as I am looking forward to Cyberpunk, Bloodlines 2, Elden Ring, Biomutant, etc.

I anticipate there are going to be some deals that will be difficult to pass up. Also, I hope the free games will continue to be top notch for PlayStation Plus.

Microsoft has stated that their supply chains are coming back online, but I guess we'll see. My expectation is the best we can hope for is a limited release this year, and that it might very well get pushed into 2021. If MS really wanted to be a jerk, they could drop a ton of cash and corner the market for the parts the systems share and try and get a big head-start on Sony, who doesn't have that kind of cash laying around.

Microsoft can also really plug its "buy a contract for Series X and GamePass and pay the us back in monthly installments over X years". It's already a thing in the States with the One X, and if Corona ends up causing a depression, it could become a more lucrative offer.
In other news, Epic is becoming a big-time publisher. They're gonna be publishing next games by Playdead (Limbo, Inside), Remedy (2 titles, same IP) and the new game by GenDesign- the studio run by Ueda (the creator of Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and Last Guardian.
Epic is doing multi-plat publishing, the devs get to keep IP rights, profit split 50-50.
Hopefully by the time these games are out, the EGS gets achievements and other QoL stuff (like a shopping cart, and ability to pay in CAD). With Epic assuming the risks and burdens of a publisher, I no longer feel they're being obnoxious with their exclusivity crap and I'd be inclined to give them money, as long as the games are interesting.

Gears Tactics previews re coming up, and they sound really good.
This might be the game to make me go down the GamePass rabbit hole.
Edit: and I might follow that up with Wasteland 3.

There was also Nintendo Direct yesterday. Nothing much of interest to me there but I did end up buying Good Job since it seems just right for the season.
I'll get around to it once I finish DOOM. Once I kill that God damn Archvile that bested me earlier.

Eastern Europe continues to rock the CRPG genre.
Last year we had Disco Elysium.
This year, we're gonna have Gamedec:
The game is already announced for Steam and GOG release, but they are also running a Kickstarter to get some extra funding, and player feedback.
People should check out the dev diaries on their channel. The latest one that was used for the Kickstarter page is giving me insane Otherland

Black Flag is great. Odyssey is great. Origins is great.
Might be a bit biased as I love all of them.
