I always say that but end up just making a sneaksy thief.

If you do go Destruction and complete mage, make sure to go full in. It's not effective in the slightest unless you have the damaging perks to go with it, 40 damage just doesn't stretch that far.

Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

The various perks band-aid it for a while, but destruction still scales horribly and you'll still be doing shit for damage by level 40-50 compared to a warrior or thief - you're stuck doing a set amount of damage, where a warrior gets exponentially better for every skill point increase, damage perk or smithing upgrade. There are mods for the PC that redress this somewhat, I can recommend SkyRe and Better Magic.

That's a real pity. I've modded myself up to the teeth over the last week and both visually and gameplay-wise, it's a whole different ball-park now. The one thing I fear is how many of my mods are going to be obsolete when Dawnguard hits... and figuring out which ones I'll need to disable to prevent crashes, as there are around 70 sitting in my nexus manager.

I picked up a bunch of Warhammer40k Mods and I now have full SpaceMarine Armor and weapons and just run through everything in the game. I'm going to uninstall them as its boring. Might have to get the better magic and make a new mage.

You might want to look into SkyRe on Nexus, as per Poopoo's advice.
I won't say it is 100% perfect (requires a level-uncapper, which will probably mean you'll be having a very easy end-game once above spawn-level) but its magic fix is so far working decently for me, as is making healing potions HoTs instead of instant (hello food, the new insta-heal), and he also has an enemy AI & combat modifier.
It does require SKSE though, which I am not too enthusiastic about.

Me I just got GalCiv2 on Steam for like 5$ and am still playing SoaSE:Rebellion so I probably have some time before I get back to it.

Something is coming out next month... was it a movie or a game? Hrm.

The big thing to note: income is everything.

Your construction is more or less directly related to your spending power. Your income is related to your population. Your population is related to your food production/ planet size. The same goes for science. Therefore, when you exhaust your homeworld by building tons of colony ships, you will affect your production strength there directly, also because it is likely your only moneymaking planet at the start of the game.

Equally, tiles that increase production by 100% or 300% need to be paid for at the same ratio. Therefore, a factory turning 5 credits into 7 hammers on a 300% tile produces 21/28 hammers and costs 15/20 credits. Especially early on this can be killing you mercilessly.

Later on, there are % boosting buildings (their upkeep is unrelated to their output as the output is a relative of the existing production of other buildings), so I'd advise always calculating if they are likely to be beneficial.

I understood the words but don't know how they work in the actual gameplay, but I think I understand what you are saying.

Just got a message from a friend that MW3 is double XP through thursday and that terminal is back. /sigh. I LOVE ME SOME TERMINAL.

The free translation is that there is only one basic resource in GalCiv: money.
Science and production are (costly) derivatives of that resource :thumbsup:.

lost the first game to my ally who ascended. Won the second game through military domination. Mass Drivers raining down upon enemy installations was glorious. Now to put them up to normal and see what happens (hint: I lose.)

Even slaughtered the dreadlords with my fleet of Dreadnaughts.

X-Com and Dishonored both come out Oct 9th. That sucks. I'm only going to get one in October...

Ive installed Rome TW again... I must have spent well over 1500 hours on this game, have done it with every faction on very hard difficulty atleast once yet everytime I play it I enjoy it and something different seems to happen.

Ooh, I hadn't heard of that, looks like it could be pretty awesome :)

Those warframes so very much remind me of The Guyver. With maybe a bit of Evangelion thrown in.
Which is awesome :)

I was going to link a picture of The Guyver suits, but unfortunately I can't find any that allow my to highlight the similarities (the end results look pretty different, but a few of the details and much of the overall...feel of the design just really reminds me of them)

This looks like it could be a great over the shoulder sci-fi/action game in the style of Mass Effect and/or Vanquish. But the Free-2-play description suggests it's just going to be yet another Multiplayer game centered around milking you for your money.
