Speculation begins about new AssCreed:
The new game (subtitle: Odyssey) to be set in Ancient Greece

Now, how ancient are are talking (given Origins is set in Ptolemaic/Roman Egypt) is up for debate

Just saw this as well. In a reddit games thread somebody posted a supposed 4chsn leak: https://i.redd.it/i5evnhcgluy01.png
If half of that stuff is true Odyssey sounds amazing. But disappointed they're going for an annual release schedule again though. This should had been Watchdogs year!

I'm a tad skeptical about this holiday's release. That feels a bit rushed.
Also, I might be getting this wrong (I only skimmed the reddit post), but it would like the player will be basically leading a rebellion, and using a ship... seriously, what is is up with Ubi and Pirates lately?
They are literally crowbaring them into every game they have.

It seems like Ubisoft are big on spreading their assets across their Assassin's Creed games. Could be why they are incorporating the "pirate" a la Black Flag into all there Assassin's Creed games now. There was even a little bit of it in Origins.
Also, I was under the impression it was going to ancient China next (just a rumor I guess), but if my shared assets theory holds true, I guess it makes more sense that they would go to Ancient Greece next with AC. It has a more similar overlap with Origins then a setting in China? Not sure, just a theory I have.

Just for Apt: apparently the release is for 2019. The 2 year cycle lives.
They may also push it to end of 2019, since both Division 2 and Skull & Bones are slated for spring of 2019
My current theory is that Guillemot's family was captured by pirates and being held hostage, so he has to keep putting pirates into every Ubisoft game to stroke their egoes while he gathers the necessary ransom money.

Loved Black Flag but the ship stuff in Origins felt too forced. It was a bit unnecessary. Seems it either needs to be the main part of the game ala Black Flag or just keep it to main AC style playing...

Do you guys think Super Mario will be a playable companion in Assassins Creed Odyssey?

Vampyr reviews are out. Pretty middling.
Green Man Gaming is offering it for 25% off. I'm thinking I'll grab it on the weekend just to support Dontnod.
It's not like there are any other major games i'm planning to buy this summer...

Really? The couple of reviews I've read/watched on YouTube (ACG did a really thorough 20-minute review) loved it.

Yeah, all the YouTubers I've been following haphazardly recommend it. But all the actual media reviewers I read (RPS, eurogamer, PCGamer, GameSpot) are all really "meh" about it.
I feel it's cuz everyone is (as expected) comparing the game to Bloodlines.
I've actually bought it yesterday through GMG (with the discount, and then converting USD to CAD it came out to just under 50 bucks, which is kinda okay for me, given I got Remember Me for dirt cheap and I loved that game).
Unfortunately, since my PC is still packed up (no point in setting it up until the new windows get painted tomorrow), I can't add the game to Steam yet. But i'll probably dig into it by July

I watched ACGs review of Vampyr earlier and it sold me on the game. The way the characters seem to matter to the world and how you decide who to "cull" seems fascinating.
Not gonna buy it at 60 dollars but I will play it before Christmas.

In the least surprising announcement to date, Kotaku is suggesting that Crackdown 3 is delayed yet again,
Edit: Microsoft confirmed delay to Feb 201. Gonna be same time period as Days Gone for Sony now

I was expecting to either hear "... and you can play it right now!" during the Microsoft conference or "It's cancelled" right after E3 ended.

Given the delay, I somehow don't expect it to be mentioned at all on Sunday.
I am really super-curious as to what Microsoft will bring to that show. There's this general expectation that they need to step out beyond their "core" IPs.

Assuming that they actually have faith in Crackdown, which I think the continued delays might imply if you're generous, I think that they're starved enough for content that they will probably show anywhere between 5 and 15 minutes of Crackdown gameplay. It would be the first time they show it in what? 18 months? Surely they have some solid, meaty gameplay chunks that will impress the audience. Right? ... Anybody? ... *Tumbleweeds*
