This is a hell of a trailer. Reminds me of a strange mix between STALKER and Bioshock.

It sounds like yet another one of the recent wave of games that copy Majora's Mask "you only have limited time to save the world, and you must repeat the same day over and over" (like Minit, or Swords of Ditto), but like I said, I like this type of art style, and this feels more like action/adventure, and less RPG.

PC gamer asked the devs some questions
Key takeaway points:
-it's a "kind of open world" game, where the player travels to different locations in the alternative USSR--mostly different parts of the numbered secret facility located all over, and connected by railways-- so kinda Bioshock-y with travel b/w locations.
-There are rebellious AIs (robots), as well as zombies
-some "levels" will have a stealth-like focus due to scarcity of ammo
-crafting is a big part of it, as the character can scrounge weapon components from anywhere
-the plot revolves around a love story between Facility employees.
-2018 release date, and more info coming "in the next 3 months"

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is looking nutty. Simplified controls so I'm a bit nervous it'll turn into a mashy spamfest like DBFZ was... But... Tager has air 720 and can chain multiple spark bolts in a combo. SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR FRIENDS!

This is definitely a game I will be keeping an eye on. Brave to launch it in the fall if that is their plan.

They might be doing August, I suppose (though I think that's when "We Happy Few" is supposed to come out of Early Access, so no the best timing either for a somewhat Bioshock-y shooter with crafting).
Otherwise, yeah, they might overlap with Metro Exodus' release window, which would kinda suck, b/c they are both targeting a similar audience.
In unrelated news, Phoenix Point is apparently delayed to summer 2019. I can't say I'm really sad about this, I still have XCOMS to play first.

I'll believe it when I see it (made)
-GSC's site DOES boast a huge "In development" sign for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2
-I will refuse to get hyped until we see gameplay.
-I'm also not sure who exactly'll be working on it, since the core dev team is currently in Vostok Games, making that F2P
-Grigorovich (The head and founder of GSC) is obviously still the person in charge, but just what kind of game it will be, a decade later, and not using the X-Ray/A-Life, only time will tell.
-In short, this goes in the same column as Cyberpunk for "no hype till gameplay, let's hope it's good and move along in the meantime"

In the most unsurprising news yet, the Shenmue III release date has been pushed back to 2019.

Erm...Shenmue3 is ALSO published by Deep Silver, which is a THQ subsidiary. If they're delaying all 4 of their big games.. that's kinda odd.
That being said, if they don't want to force the devs to work on a specific E3 presentation and allow them to just focus on hammering out the issues from the games, that's a pretty good way to do it too.

I think someone already said it, but it's quite possible everyone is trying to avoid RDR2s release window.

Yeah, that was me, lol
Edit: Ubi announced that Skull & Bones joined the "delayed to 2019" club, lol.
We are rapidly running out of non-RDR2 releases, lol

I like to think Ubisoft got some user feedback on Skull and Bones and realized everybody wants a single player island adventure aspect to the game, so they're retooling the game. But that's probably just wishful thinking.

You are 101% correct.
(Though as fitting as it is for this sort of game, the chaotic spaceship setting is getting a bit played out already...)

Anyone played this on the Xbone? Any good? How does it stack up against Dying Light and the like?
With ongoing rumors that Microsoft is actually gonna start making games again, I'm beginning to muse about considering upgrading to Win 10 for access to Play Anywhere titles. I'm presuming that if it comes to PC it'll be through the WinStore only.

I got it as a Christmas present and have played it a bit. It's a fun game with a cool aesthetic and some nice movement mechanics. I only stopped playing because I got other games for Christmas which I had been looking forward to more, not because I didn't like it. It's sorta kinda but not really a mix of Infamous, Dying Light, and Jet Set Radio.
Having said that, I suspect it's not a game which would stick long in the memory.
