Like this whole forum, this thread is an artifact, from the time before social media was a proper thing. Used to be there weren't any places to share pictures, videos, books, daily life outside forums.

I like our little watering hole that survives away from Web 2.0

Yes, I was just pondering that fact. It's kinda cute ngl. But not cute enough for me to bother with pics here. :p Edit: but I love the fact that this actually exists. :)

I honestly just don't use Instagram. Durned kids.

I can understand that, it can be so weird at times, and people behave really strangely. I think for some people it's not good at all, while for me for example it's a good thing because I have a natural aversion against a lot of it. If that makes sense?

It's a useful tool to keep in touch.
But it encourages narcissism in a Hella bad way and is proven to be hugely addictive, especially in kids/teen-agers. Which leads to a whole raft of insecurities and other mental well being issues.

Yes, kids definitely needs help dealing with it, but I think that's true for most of the internet though. And a lot of adults seem to have problems with most of the internet aswell. Self awareness and self management is a beautiful thing.

Frankly, social media is too much work.

I went through a phase of "Facebbok addiction" back when it originally took off ( in 1st year uni we got those accounts we had to link to our uni emails. This was before I everyone was allowed onto FB, back when it was still a new and exciting tech), and I lost interest in social media just before the twittergrams took off.

That, and I've never been a photo person, I don't care if other people want to take pics/tag me in photos, but I can rarely be bothered to do that myself.

Yeah, I can relate to a certain extent, I think social media can feel very weird for people that aren't super extroverts. But I'm not sure that's it either. For me, the context of sharing something is a major factor. On Instagram it's only people I know that see my posts, and essentially I like that my sisters, that both live in other countries, can see my pictures. It really took a lot of 'practice' to get comfortable with sharing selfies for instance. I still feel uncomfortable doing that on other places, like twitter for instance. So for me there's a major difference between different social contexts. On facebook for instance I rarely post anything at all, but I'm active in groups more.

This isn't about the ppe, it's more about how I don't mind now posting a pic of me online for some reason.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.
