Nope, it's why people have been bandying the idea about of Galain as a dummy alt. That is, members of a team (or lovers, or it could be the giving of an ability mentioned in the Chinese VC, like an Imposter ability or something) are able to post in another alt for whatever purpose. That is all speculation, of course, but it seems the most likely scenario.

I can see how people would think that (even if it is a bit of a leap in my mind), but I don't think it's an area we should be focusing on. Kaschan has been rather vehement about this whole thing, and it's confusing the fuck out of a lot of people, you and Fener included. If his purpose was to distract from scum-hunting (assuming the dummy alt is a scum ability) or just to distract in general and get a lynch from it, then he's done a marvelous job.

EDIT - x-post with HP

Fuck you - Im not confusing anyone. Im playing the fucking game. There is a massive OVER FUCKING REACTION to the vote and pressure that was put on Galain. Thats the fucking case. You trying to constantly discredit my arguments by saying they make no sense is really starting to get under my skin. You dont like it, make something better happen. But stop pretending that I started the fucking topic, or that I am single handedly driving home the argument. I am giving my input about the reasons Galain looks scummy (or at least someone of intrest).

Kaschan... the fact is , you vehemently state that Galain was inconsistent in his two posts.
When in reality its not that clear that he actually did....its entirely up to interpretation.
Thats the sole reason anyone is questioning your motives.

I understand where you are coming from myself.
But i feel its not as cut and dry as what you seem to think it is.
Your condemning someone for having a bad memory is not really helping either.
The fact that he could not recall something correctly from the last game has no bearing...

meh...

*sigh* It's really rather annoying when people chuck tantrums like this. Over-reaction? Irony, thy name is Kaschan. Note I said 'if'. You're acting like I'm accusing you of murder, when all I'm noting is we've been fixating solely for this 'slip' of Galain's for a number of hours and we have one member who seems more adamant about this theory than most. If it had've been more than an idle observation I would have voted for you. Alas, I didn't. And where did I say you started the topic? I didn't, but I have said you've been pushing this. D'riss did as well for a little bit, and Ruse chimed in, but you have been the more vocal (and angry) by a veritable mile.

As for giving the reasons about Galain's 'situation', fine. I'm just pointing out the logical and semantic inconsistencies. Besides, even if we accept your premise, and Galain is the dummy alt, this does not make him scummy, any more than it makes the man with the tilted glasses scummy, all it points to is that there is a person with an ability to post in another alt. So there seems to me little to be gained in driving the point home any further.

Well, I have to leave soon, and since the timer has extended, I likely won't be around for the deadline.

What to do...

4 hours left - and the votes are widely scattered

This should piss Sil off

Remove Vote
Vote Galain

Basically the only reason I am doing this is to piss Silanah off some more.

I personally think the wisest choice i to not vote. If we dont cast a single vote then the Chinese cant win the points (at least today), Instead of everyone voting and giving them a chance to get the extra points.

Not a good colour on you, Kaschan. I bet you will feel ultra-foolish for spite-voting (hehe) if Galain is on your team...personally I don't care if he is lynched or not (well, unless he turns out to be on my team), I just think the reason is not even really a reason. It makes no sense.

As for not voting, I believe votes that are not on a successful lynch train count as well, so that really does nothing whatsoever. In fact, it makes them more likely to win points, as they have 1 more day's worth of votes in comparison.

Hey Kaschan,

Seriously, the Galain case is pretty bad. On top of that, you were happy with your vote on me and now you're happy with it on Galain, even though you think it's best to not vote at all... to "counteract" the Chinese.

I actually thought about this and had a good laugh because it really is impossible to 'find' the Chinese any given day. It DOES appear that they're going to want to vote every single day, but if everyone is trying to vote to 'counteract' them, then really, you can't tell by someone voting whether or not it's best for them to vote*.

I actually think the Chinese are going to be the most reticent to vote for a lynch. They probably have the biggest faction which means they are the most likely to lose a member to a lynch. And if they lynch someone, it's possible members of their team will not have a vote in yet. It seems more likely that they'd want to scatter votes all over the place and just let the day time out.

I think a lynch is probably a good idea, but I don't think we're going to get one at this rate... or if we do, it will be a very poorly informed one.

edit: *I dunno what i was typing there but it should say "...can't tell by someone voting if they are or are not Chinese."

If I'm not mistaken, we're still missing Gamelon, Meanas, and Shadow...

IMO, if you're concerned about the "extra alt" I'd really recommend you look at those three. What do you think is more likely? That we have had 3 people not yet check in or that we've had 2 people not yet check in, and one of them is the mystery double-alt?

So is anybody going to help me hit 1000 posts by the end of the day? We need like 100 an hour... :D

How can we look at them when they haven't posted?:D

You raise a good point though. It's been more than 24 hours since the game started I think. 1 or 2 absentees I could stomach, but three is passing strange. I would imagine it is an ability gained at one of the later levels, because it is rather powerful. Although that does make it easy to spot...

I really should have left by this point, but I'll probably be here for another 20 minutes. I notice we have a lot of anons who aren't posting anything, though.

Well by look at them I mean stare into the vacancies where they would post and then if you really want to try and eliminate the double-alt, vote for one of them at random. I, for example, have a great disdain for the Meanas alt!

Of course, voting for players who aren't here really isn't that useful for the game. You could accidentally vote for a teammate and the train gives no information.

Plus, we have a lot of low posters (not awesome people like us). It's possible all 2/3 of them were locked out during the forum crash.

I don't take the lurkers to be that big of a deal, honestly. I check the forum at home before I go to work and probably inflate the anonymous count, since I usually can't do more than try to check up for the vote count and timer before I take off.

With this little time left in the day, some people may be trying to decide if they need to vote and if so, if they're voting to lynch or just voting to vote.

No me neither, I was just saying there are people around while you lament your lack of company.

I'm debating at the moment who I should vote for. Personally, I think I should, and I'm not satisfied to leave a joke-vote on SL. Even in the face of a dearth of viable candidates, Kaschan's head would probably explode if I voted for him, and I'm not convinced he's scum in any case.

I don't really like this kind of post. Honestly, I get being annoyed with "wading" through the spam. That makes sense, even though we had to do it to get a level. But surely a player who has time to post can at least offer up something useful. I'm not a fan of "I'm confused" style posts. Everyone's confused! But at least we're all trying to work it out.

Korvalain, also at 2 posts, has no content, either. At least with 4 posts, Emurlahn has some content, including a vote!

But voting for low-posters is almost as useless as voting for no-posters.

Ugh, fuck it.

Vote Galain

Hate to do this, as I don't agree with the case at all, and I apologise to Galain, but in my mind a lynch, even a wrong one, is better than no lynch.

See you on the slip side, amigos.
