The Witcher 2 has its weaknesses, but having played it makes W3 so much more enjoyable. It certainly made the love story with T'riss pretty damn convincing.

Ya know what was hilarious? Me and Jace started the game and just a few mins into it we were starring at her big pair of titties before we knew what was happening. It took me a few seconds to tell him to turn his head and he was giggling looking away. He's 10.

The Witcher is clearly not an american made game. Nudity, swearing, open discussions about sex. It's surprisingly refreshing.

I had to pull down the blinds during on scene in the Witcher 3 - Heart of Stone.

Having read no Witcher books at the time, the Geralt I played in 2 didn't care in the least for the greater events going on around him. He was there to save T'riss, and it made the whole story better and more personal, at least for me. Following that thread in 3 made it feel all the more intense.

Does W3 include a proper jump function? This is still really bugging me. You think I should keep this epic Blue armor or will something better pop up shortly?

Keep it for now. Smth better does come up during Act 1, but it takes a while.

And yes, TW3 has a jump button, and it's glorious.

I used to spend 15 min at a time just jump/roll climbing, seeing how high up I can get in the various mountains.

Not as glorious as the surfing skills Geralt has when he is sliding down the mountain. Posted Image

Honestly, the most "intense" romance option was Shani in TW1. The one time I chose her in Act 3, by the time Act 5 rolled around I fet genuinely ashamed of the fact that Geralt would never be able to offer her the peace and security she obviously deserved. It felt like I was stringing her along, which caused said shame.

Is that the anti-Kayran poison one?

I think you get the recipe once you complete the quest for the ingredients.

Alternatively, Cedric might have it.

There is a herbalist in the town before the wall, in the last cabin on the side of the town, that borders the river. Her name is Anezka and she is involved in several optional quests. I'm not sure if she is involved in the Kayran quest as well, but if no one else has it, it is probably her you search.

Yes it's for that. I had to get some Ostmurk(which is what I was trying to do right off the bat and getting fucked up before I got silver sword lol, big difference with one!) and now I gotta get the mongoose thing but can't find it in any inventory or craft list. Cedric was 1st one I went to then I tried the Dude at the docks. I shut down the drug dealer store before hand so I'm hoping I didn't have to go to him.

I think the quest gives you the recipe, so you should be able to brew it yourself in your alchemy menu provided you have Ostmurk (which provides Fulgar) and ingredients with Aether (e.g. Scleroderm) and Rebis (e.g. Celandine).

:D yeah, that was my impression, too. I'm pretty sure T'riss gives you the recipe once you scope out the lair, and you can brew it yourself when you go to mediate.

I posted an extensive step-by-step breakdown of Kayran killing in the playing thread a few years back.

Once Yrden trap is laid, you need the tentacle to hit it (so keep rolling back and forth next to the trap) and get paralysed. Then you heavy-attack the fuck out of the glowing nodule thing.

Rinse, repeat. Don't get caught by the mucus. Using the trap to snap one of the tentacles early on helps.

After 3 tentacles are off, good luck with the QTE.

Quick Time Event.

Yeah, that fight can be exasperating.

Just pick a side next to the mucus, and keep rolling back and forth. Casting Quen first helps. (If you roll too far to a side, you get rocks tossed at you, so avoid that)

There is also an option for easier quick time events in the menu.

Yrden on the ground and stand next to it. Jump once one of the tentacles lowers.

Also it gets easier after you cut of one of the tentacles and the Kayran doesn't move, so you have same save space.

Maybe level 8 is a bit low. I don't remember actually. Any investments in extra life unitl now?

I don't think those open up until you later in the skill trees. Especially since maxing those early sword skills is essential to de-crapify Geralt.

I'm trying to think of pre-Kayran exp boosts BK may have missed. The ghosts are tough, and you basically need ghost oil for those.

I think I killed one of the endrega queens before I did the Kayran. Sounds like he already did "troll trouble" and "Malena" , so not much there.

It should be doable, as long as you crafte the Kayran trap, which insta-kills a tentacle and a quarter of its health bar.

That's the thing about this game. Sure, there is gratuitous nudity and sex aplenty, but at the same time that specific scene made their relationship feel real to me.

Should I even bother to enhance common weapons or wait till I get some better gear? I'm so nervous about fucking myself out an item permanently.

Eventually you'll be able to buy schematics for enhancements, too. Act 2, I think.

Problem is, crafting anything realy decent that's not made of a boss' skin requires pretty insane amount of grinding to collect/buy/craft enough "hardened leather" that it sucks a lot of the fun out of the game. The Enhanced Edition's "Dark Mode" has the Dark armour sets, and those require insane grinding. I managed to get 2 full sets for Acts 1 and 2, but the cost for Act 3 was exhorbitant (and also I didn't really like the visual effects from using these "cursed" sets.). Gothos was swearing by them, but they really weren't my cup of tea.

You should have Kayran armour blueprints now. For Act 1, that's probably the best set. I kept using Alchemist's gloves until the very end I think, just because the extra alchemy ingredients you pick up are so useful.

Use Yrden to trap her and than attack her. Afterwards jump away. You should also be able to make an oil for your sword against insects.

Also try another bomb. Grapeshot I think. Samum only stuns. Some of the others could also work, but they have to do damage.
