My immigrant visa deadline expires on 22 of this month. That means I will either be on US soil by next week, living in Atlanta, or if things keep going sour here, I will remain.

Either way, this could very well be a trip I could do, come September, yet I can not vouch 100% behind it.
I have a notoriously adventurous heart, and I make decisions based on that. Last time I got into such a mood, I was in a plane traveling 6,000 miles away, and ended up staying for 20 months instead of 4-5 days.

I do not plan on doing the same thing now, but if I do happen to wake up at Sept 9th and feel in the mood of adventuring, I wouldn't want to knock on your door and face a shotgun barrel.

Also for everyone looking to book hotels I live in the city of Chicago fairly close to a train. So downtown hotels would work perfectly. I would not recommend staying at a hotel in the suburbs as Chicago traffic can be quite horrible and I wouldn't want anyone to have to drive 30+ miles through it after the party. If you are going to drive to Chicago and are staying at a hotel then I would not use their (the hotels) parking. I know of several lots that are just outside of downtown but are only a quarter of the price. They are with in walking distance of the hotel. Right Bent and HD...

There is parking on my street and on the street across from my house. But if you are staying at a hotel then I would suggest either cabbing it or taking the train here then cabbing it back afterword. By train it is about 25 minutes from down town by taxi/car (depending on time of day and other things controlled by Daley) it can take 10-45 minutes.

I saw on hotwire today that there is a hotel at the airport for only 79$ a night. Personally I wouldn't stay out there cause there isn't shit to do. But we live off of the blue line( the train line that runs to Ohare) so getting to our place would be just as easy as staying downtown.
