Yeah cos I was driving and it was on the other side of the country and I didn't really feel like making the trip myself, having just got back from another trip somewhere else a long way away. Yeah this is the 4th time Karnivool have been here in the last year or so - I will have been to 3 of those 4. :p They are getting a much bigger following here now which is good but it probably means I won't get to go backstage and hang out with them like I did the first time. :p

The last concerts I went were of Enslaved, Dimmu Borgir and Katatonia. The first and the last were absolutely brilliant. In February I'm going to see Melechesch and Nile. In march Black Label Society. The dark sides in these events are that if you don't have a car, travelling in Finland is f*****g expensive. But it's worth it.

No they didn't. They were warm upping the Dimmu Borgir, although I was there only to see Enslaved and probably were the only dude in the crowd to be excited. Their loss. They played all the "hittier" stuff. Pretty awesome anyway and they seem to be quite fun people to hang with.

Just bought tickets to Rammstein and Kings of Leon next year :p Finally, seems like we might finally be getting some decent bands down here.

All right in no particular order:

the Allman Brothers (this was actually the first concert I went to, I was 5)
Flogging Molly x2
Dropkick Murphys
the Mighty Mighty Bosstones x3
Less Than Jake x4
Metallica x3
Aerosmith
Godsmack x2
Rob Zombie
Baroness (I live in Savannah so I saw them at their 'home' venue the Jinx)
Black Tusk (also at The Jinx in Savannah)
Kylesa (same as above, although I like their sound I don't like their vox)
Mastodon x2
Deftones x2
Linkin Park
Valient Thorr
Between the Buried and Me
Tool x2
Drowning Pool
Hellyeah... got to meet Vinnie Paul and Chad Grey back stage
Mudvayne
Halestorm
Stone Sour... got to meet the entire band back stage
Avenged Sevenfold
Alice in Chains
Chevelle
Les Claypool
Clutch

...and that's all that I can remember at the moment...
Monsignor:...Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men.
Connor: [as the brothers exit the church] I do believe the monsignor's finally got the point.
Murphy: Aye.

Wow... Karnivool surprised me again, BY HOW MUCH MORE FREAKING AWESOME THEY ARE THAN I REMEMBER THEM!!!!

Seriously they played their best concert yet in Manc last week, superb gig! Nice to see them picking up a fairly decent following in this country!

Saw Mannheim Steamroller last night. Good music, but the videos they were playing on the screen behind them were kind of goofy.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Meh. 50 euros for two tickets to see Ellen Allien do her thang... is a bit too much. Sad panda though, she's quite the dj. Am going to see Hot Chip do a dj-gig at the 26th, and Hooverphonic on the 20th of april.
That aside, there really is not much to see in the entirety of th Netherlands, sadly

Ellie Goulding on the 27th of March, 30 Second To Mars again in late April, and then Tiesto in May.

They've not been here for a number of years.

I saw a brilliant local rock band last night. They played a jaw-dropping cover of Maiden's Two Minutes to Midnight and were getting into some Dream Theater when I left. However I have no idea what their name was. ;)

Saw Hooverphonic yesterday, their first concert with the new singer (and wow, has she got a voice? Yes, she has) Noémie Wolfs. Not sure where they'll be touring, as their moment of glory was 2004-2006 or so, but if you like somewhat dramatic slow triphop, I can vouch for their quality.

They have a new singer? I saw them WAY back when, I think around the time "Blue Wonder Power Milk" came out, and they were amazing, and the venue was small so I met them. They were really cool.

I'll have to look up their new stuff.

I've got TIESTO tonight in Toronto! Woot!!

Yup. Geike Arnaerts quit in 2008, and auditions for the new singer lasted for around a year or so. Noémie's voice is quite different from the previous singers, imho. The new album is good (listened to it a couple of times to prep for the concert), but I don't think it has the same wow-factor as The Magnificent Tree had (Jackie Cane, Dolphins, Out of Sight, Mad about You).

Also, enjoy Tiësto :)

I'm personally not that big a fan of his as I think he spends too much time with his hands in the air getting wow-ed where he should/could be doing stuff on the turntable, but he is undeniably one of the best known names in techno and capable of delivering an immense and very smooth show with multiple highs and very few lows.

@ alt; that sounds pretty good... I might have to try and get a hold of some of that - easily on the level of the better dutch underground hiphop groups (Opgezwolle and Fakkelbrigade) and with more melodic skills.
