Saw Lark twice this weekend past, one live set on Saturday along with The Narrow and Boo!, another acoustic set on Sunday. Hadn't seen The Narrow in ages, or Boo! live before, they all rocked. The sets were way too short though, especially Lark's acoustic set. Considering the rumours that Lark probably wont tour again, I expected a bit more fanfare. Still, a cool weekend, will post some pics when I get them from my girlfriend.

Saw Dead Letter Circus on Friday. Uh-mazing! Although the singer didn't quite hit the high notes on occasion. Great crowd as well.

There is no chance of me listing every gig I've ever been to since I'm 29 and I've been going to and playing gigs since I was 15, here are a couple of the best

1995 Greenday (touring Dookie and just excellent)

1999 Bloodhound Gang

2003 [I think] Iron Maiden

2007 Joanna Newsom

shit gigs

Metallica 1996, it would be truly difficult to tell you how awful watching any band, let alone a supposedly thrash metal band, sitting down is. I literally will not go to gigs unless I get to stand up as a result of this effort.

Latest gig, last week Japandroids at the Deaf Institute Manchester, fucking owned the place and like old pro's told us "hey Manchester, we were in Leeds last night and those guys fucking sucked, you guys are fucking awesome"- it's nice to see the youngsters studying the masters like Bruce Dickinson and Spinal Tap and using their tried and tested crowd wooing techniques

Yeah, Bruce is awesome at it. Did it when I saw them in Melbourne, telling us how shit Sydney was compared to us. Also asked why the hell Canberra is our capital (since it's a shithole), and other funny stuff that I can't quite remember.

I won't list every band that I have seen over the years but I will also list the most important ones:

- Every Sabaton gig I have been to. I have seen them 13 times and I am still not bored

- Blind Guardian, always great to sing along

- Testament, simply the best Thrash Metal band out there

- Probably not many will know them: die Apokalyptischen Reiter, a German metal band whose gigs are always great fun

I could go on but these four bands or rather their concerts are the ones I enjoyed the most

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter are sweet, I would like to see them live. Reitermaniacs is a quality tune that I can imagine would be great in a mosh pit!

Well it is great in the pit but you have to watch out for they normally send two persons in two lifeboats to crowdsurf to the FOH tower or the mixer Posted Image

Saw Bob Wayne (with the 357 string band in support) live yesterday. Pretty good fun, the man was sharp and the music went like a freight train at full steam.
After an hour or so, Wayne left the stage and the 357 did it all by themselves, providing even more tempo and some good quality stuff, but they lacked Waynes stage presence, sadly.

Last week i saw Skindred in preston. Was an absolutely tiny room but they were bloody amazing, still have a slight black eye now
They were supported by Forever Never and Idiom. Thought Idiom were ok but wasnt a massive fan of Forever Never.

Disturbed
Prodigy
Pendulum
Hatebreed
Cavalera Conspiracy
Devildriver
Slayer
Machinehead
Static X
Turisas
Sabaton

Dude were Skindred absolutely mental? It was possibly one of the most violent concerts I have ever been to! Also, Turisas FTW!

It was bloody amazing. Was a really small venue though, just a tiny upstairs room in some club in preston. Did mean it was easy to get out of the pit for water breaks and still get back in easily though

He knows how to entertain, good old Benji... I was in a small-medium sized club, but the entire place ended up being an epic pit, especially when he started yelling at the people not jumping around, and everyone joined in and forced them to get involved.

FUN LOVIN' CRIMINALS!!!

Damn, that was great again.
Played a lot of old songs from 100% Columbian that they'd never done live before.
Also: This never fails to deliver.
