Who knows, maybe Stonewielder will have something that leads into TCG too.

I hear on the grapevine that SE is two chapters away from finishing The Crippled God, with delivery to Bantam scheduled for a few weeks from now. The release date of January 2011 remains unchanged at the moment.

As Werthead has already posted Steve announced in Derby at the weekend that he is 2 and a half chapters from finishing.
He also did a reading from the novel he is writing with Cam which is based around the Mott Irregulars and is already planning out the next B&B novella.

Novel about the Mott Irregulars? More about the Bole Brothers? Perhaps even about the battles against the Bridgeburners?
I'm excited.
A bit dissapointed about the pushed back release date, somehow managed to completely miss that post before untill now. Was looking forward to reading the Crippled God during a late Fall vacation.
Ah well, started reading the Shanara trilogy from Terry Brooks last week and I heard the complete series contains seven books and I just got the second and third part of the Rift War saga from Feist, so it will keep me busy for a while.

Actually Shannara has a good first trilogy, a better quadrilogy, and then a pretty decent trilogy, and then a pretty bad trilogy, and then a trilogy I haven't read that connects Shannara to another seemingly unrelated trilogy Brooks wrote. Oh and there's a Shannara prequel thrown in there somewhere that wasn't so hot. Not to get too off topic. Hooray for the Mott Irregulars!

Mott Irregulars, Schmott Irregulars, I'm just ecstatic to see SE and ICE collaborating on a Malazan novel!
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

As posted on the Hotlist this morning, just heard from SE's editor that TCG has been pushed back to February 21st.
The manuscript weighs in at 370,000 words, and the folks at Bantam Press don't want to rush it...

this made my heart pound very hard, and then a disappointed feeling as I was looking forward to January. This is 6 weeks after what I thought

That sound you heard was my thinkymeatz 'sploding.
As a related aside, i have to love the fact that even tho MBF is 'ending' in feb next year, SE already has 8 more novels in the same world planned (Toblakai tril', Andii tril, a Darujhistan book and now this Mott work...).
Plus we have ICE on the hook for four more at least.

Abyss,
You should also be pleased by the fact that you have ample opportunities to call for my brainzzz in the near future.
Indeed, I have a set of page proofs of ICE's Stonewielder on its way, and I'll get the same treatment with The Crippled God next month...
Ain't life grand!?!

Anyone known if we're going to get a Prologue released ahead of time online?
I finally have an avatar ... and it's better than yours.

Since DoD and TCG are one book I'm unsure whether there's a 'prologue' as such to give us. We have been given two excerpts already though:
