Some sexiness for you guys. Playing this game will make your penis jealous of how many eyegasims your eyes have while playing.

Played a bunch of hours this morning. I'm somewhere in Chapter 2 now, doing quests in Valentine.

I just ran into the most fucked up thing. After a bar fight Arthur was all muddy and fucked up so I wanted to return to camp. I ran back on foot and went under a small bridge and a human torso was suspended under the bridge! No legs or head, entrails and blood everywhere and "Look on my Works" scrawled on a rock wall. WTF.

Anyway the game is great. Love the characters. Love the writing. Love the mechanics. The gunplay is not great and the movements is heavy and lumbering but I think it sort of fits with the games setting and theme. Arthur isn't Neo in the Matrix. He's a rough and tumble kind of outlaw.

Apparently if you want to do a robbery and not be identified, as well as the bandana, you need to change clothes, horse and pistols for ones the townsfolk haven't seen Arthur wearing before.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Ah shit, that makes sense. Maybe this is why I keep getting bounties. Also explains why you can carry three outfits.

They have to be fresh/unseen. Even your guns can be recognised!
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

The icons in this game are ridiculously tiny. I'm getting a headaches squinting across the room trying to make out what they are.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Spent a good amount of time checking out all the things you can do in Valentine.

- Took in a movie. Aw. If only the other woodland creatures would have listened to Bear.
- Stopped two O'Driscoll gang members from shaking down a guy.
- Scared the shit out of a denizen of Valentine when he said he recognized me from Blackwater. Scared him enough so he want tell anyone. I could have killed him and let him drop to his death from a cliff
*My playing style, so far, is for trying to keep or increase my honor. So haven't gone full murderous outlaw. (yet Posted Image)
- Got into a bar fight with my guys in a saloon. Sequence included that sweet ass go to from Western movies whereby I get tossed through the window out onto the muddy street.
- Collected a bounty. The guy was a doctor selling bad medicine.
- Got a wanted level. Was shot and killed (I wanted to turn myself in but was too slow, dammit).
- Went to the Post Office and paid off the bounty on me.
- Played five finger fillet. Oh, also played Dominoes, but that was back at Horseshoe Overlook (current camp).
- Went and checked out all the shops (General Store, Butcher, Gunsmith, and Doctor). Bought some cheap provisions - don't have much money currently.Posted Image
- Went to the Barber. Got a clean shave and new hair style.
- Did some side missions associated with members of my gang. (Van Der Linde).
- Spent a little time collecting various plants (Yarrow, mushrooms, etc.,) when little quests, like scaring the guy, took me just outside Valentine.
- Spent the night in the Hotel. Took a bath in the morning.
Spoiler

I love how the game is paced and am not feeling any heart burn at all about traveling around on horse. Have you guy experienced the night sky yet? Or when a thunderstorm is brewing in the distance and you can hear the thunder? It's quite an achievement for a video game.

Pro-tip. When you've donated money to the camp, spend done of that money upgrading Dutch's tent. It'll apparently motivate the rest of the gang to donate more resources themselves.

Thanks for the tip. But doesn't upgrading the camp require hanging skulls of various animals and laying down skins? I haven't even scratched the surface of hunting in the game yet. Except the mission where you are required to bring back some meat for the butcher (Pearson).

I guess I need to venture out around Horseshoe Overlook and try to score a few kills.

Fuck I've killed two people in town already by hitting R2 instead of L2 when going to buy a newspaper or something.

Any of you guys know if town NPCs respawn if they're killed? I've been worrying about a stick up going wrong and losing vendors permanently.

I haven't run into that issue yet - my current play style is stay honorable. But if it is anything like GTA V (killing a cashier for instance), I think if you ride away and let some time pass, they will be back. Or save, exit out and start up again and they should be back. I could be wrong though as RDR2 is really pushing the envelop for realism. I would search google for the answer. Or you could create a new save and try it yourself and see what happens (having the previous save to fall back on).

So I was going for honourable, but I seem to keep accidentally shooting people. I was stopped by a guy who'd been bitten by a snake, I jumped off my horse, went to help, and shot him in the face instead. Shortly after, two men by a tent started to warn me off and drew weapons; I shot them both with the bow I happened to be holding. I now have a bounty in Valentine.
Can you have multiple saves? Can I reload from earlier? Doesn't look like it, but it's a bit annoying if you do something unintentional, and want to change it.

Like, with that bear hunt, I took the black horse to the stable, sold it, but could only buy a 15 dollar horse back, which I'm kind of stuck with for now. Wish I'd kept the big one.

Also, what are you doing with hunted animals? I've been donating them to the camp pot, but is there a way to make decent money? There's a butcher in Valentine but I might accidentally stab him to death or something.

I'm on PS4 and the save screen has multiple save slots. Select one and save. Then when you go back to playing the game, when the auto save kicks in for the first time it will ask you if you want to overwrite your manual save. I answered yes and from there played on. I guess if you say no, it continues the auto saves on a new slot and leaves your manual save alone? I think that is how it works.

I accidentally shot someone in the face myself once. I thought maybe going to the weapon wheel and equipping my fist might prevent that, but if you mistakenly pull R2 it will still shoot. I can see how it can happen often because you use L2 a lot to focus and interact with people and objects. I've just learned to be extra cautious. Also, if you just tap L1, it will holster your weapon (holding brings up the wheel).

Ah I only my saw the big windows like story and challenges etc, that let you replay elements - not an actual save or load screen.

I've been exploring a lot instead of doing the story. I keep coming across abandoned villages or rotting cottages. Towns killed off by plague with a guy sitting in prison who clearly starved to death. I even found a house which was the scene of some kind of ritualistic mass suicide, with dead people lying in cots and a high priest like skeleton sitting at an altar.

The heartlands are a hard place.

About that location where there was mass suicide. It sounds like the place where a YouTuber posted an Easter egg. I don't want to spoil it (maybe I already am by telling you there is an Easter egg there), but hang around there at night, is all I will say.

Same YouTuber posted another vid on how to expose a glitch to keep getting money.

Game has only been out three days, and already some have found these things. It baffles the mind some people find this shit so fast.

I started again. I got into a fistfight in Valentine as you can surrender and then clear your bounty, but since I had to go to jail briefly, the residents all react to me very differently now, plus I have no money and cos I'm a dope I didn't realise there was a manual save, so I had no backup.

Good to replay the first missions though, the pacing and intro really is perfectly handled. Now I'm back in camp; went around doing chores, which raises dead eye, and taking it all in before I set out again. Got some saves now in case it goes tits up.

The physics are just mind blowing. On reddit there's videos of a canoe sinking if you shoot holes in it, a shotgun go8ng off when it's dropped, blowing it's owners head off, and so many funny horse crashes.

You're alright, bhoy.
