Of those games I can definitely recommend GUN. Despite being a PS2 era game, the actual story and the early open world/GTA-like elements, make for a really fun western game. I think I put it on easy because the shooting controls were a bit wonky if I recall correctly but I thoroughly enjoyed the game.

I bought vermintide and child of light for the ps4 (through PSN).

Don't buy Vermintide. It doesn't work. It has a bug which randomly shifts you in and out of reverse y-axis movement, the image does not fit the screen and it is unable to find matches for you, which is a problem for a multiplayer only game.

Elder Scrolls Online because it was cheap and I want to try and find another MMO to play.

I'm not a fan of the Elder Scroll (that's right, Silencer, they suck!) games but hopefully since it's an MMO the lack of interesting story won't bother me as much.

For what it's worth, I played ESO for about half a day and really liked it. It's basically Skyrim with MMO mechanics crammed into the system.

It was so addicting I had to delete the game because I could see myself getting swallowed by the game.

To be fair, much of my love of the Elder Scrolls series is for Morrowind first, and everything else second.
I liked Skyrim, but it legitimately was not a very... Unique game. It was derivative with a vanilla setting and the same problem as Oblivion in terms of world size and variety. While it was unquestionably a better *game* than Oblivion, it still has its fair share of problems and the biggest one they shared was lack of scope for telling your own story.

Morrowind was a lot better in that regard. Plus, it existed in a time when "open world playground" was not as common or cookie cutter as it is today, which probably helped.

TESO doesn't really do it for me. Coop TES is a dream of mine, but mmo? Not so much. Plus, despite coming a long way since the atrocious beta, it still has a lot of weirdly broken mechanics if you want to play it as an mmo, and it utterly struggles to feel immersive as a solo experience. Basically, it has the Destiny problem. Not enough depth as a lore/world experience, but too oddly cobbled together to be a competent mmo experience.
(Though the world is still miles ahead of Destiny levels of depth, don't get me wrong - it's probably only a bit shallower than Skyrim.)

So yeah. I get a lot more out of Oblivion or Skyrim thanks to my love for and experiences with Morrowind (even though the flip side of that is constant negative comparisons), than someone who is without that background might. Not to say they're actually bad games (though I can see why you wouldn't like them so much, Loki), but rather that they aren't as good without context. (Though without context a lot of the things which are missing are less of an issue too, I guess.)

I might jump on the $30 sale for the remastered skyrim. I never did beat it the first time around. I did just grab stR wars battlefront and mad max for a total of $13 which is pretty reasonable for console prices

Don't know what your budget is like but I've been hearing that Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is a great feudal Japan version of Commandos.

I've never gotten into the Commandos series but I'm thinking about picking this up.

Steam Christmas Sale is about to begin. Don't know if it's worth making a new Steam Sale thread since it's been less than a month since the last one.

I actually held off on buying a bunch of games because I wanted to see if there were badges or something to earn over Christmas.

Before the Christmas Sale even started I pulled the trigger on Astroneer.

I never support Early Access on Steam since the games are almost never finished it seems, but I had to buy this. It's so fucking sexy looking. Played it for about an hour and while it's definitely not a polished experience, it's just a really cool game.

Can't wait to build my Moon Buggy and race around the planets.

Bought the two Witcher 3 expansion packs a couple of weeks ago, and bought Dragon Age Inquisition yesterday. For some reason my introductions to games tend to be the third game in the series since I bought my ps4 last year for Christmas (God of War 3, Diablo III, Witcher 3, Dragon Age Inquisition).

How are the dungeons in Oceanhorn? I was going to get this, but I read that while the game is like zelda the puzzles are almost non existant.
