humh.. I'm unsure how to approach this. As of now, I worry how Spite (perfectly placed to be pounced upon by the mob) so far has escaped all danger in regards to a lynch. How did that happen?
Furthermore, Meanas was wrong about Liosan, or he lied. This also seems to have held no consequences. It bothers me that two people so easily escape what could be an easy lynch in a merc game.
Come to think of it.. Liosan could surely not have been more than a power of 1. If he was recruited night 1 then surely he'd still be on 1 on night 2 when Meanas supposedly targeted him and failed? So how could Meanas have failed if he was power 2?
So yeah, for now this seems the most logical choice
Meanas

Meanas has been pushing this game from the start. Best I figure he has at least two pawns working for him at this point. I had a vote on him before that was largely ignored. I will put it back on now. I would like to see who ignores it now.(hopefully not PS again)

What Korv said is pretty true. I'm just not going to vote for him right now, because I'm feeling petulant. I too had a vote on him forever, and that was ignored. Meanas can drive the game some more if he wants. And Ruse too, for all his "Tulas is a low poster" b.s.

I am curious as to why you would assume with such certainty that Liosan was recruited night one and didn't start in Yaun Shu's faction?
How Meanas could have failed has already been gone over on thread.

hmm, why do I get the feeleing that Meanas attacked Korv's leader?
not that I have anything against lynching off Meanas, mind you.

Ok right now id be totally ok with voting meanas as i have a strong feeling he isnt on my team, but i have a sneaking suspicion that Spite is probably a better target as he's managed to dodge the lynch so far and i have a feeling that he is Meanas' leader. My reasoning for that is a bit earlier.
So i think i will
Vote Spite

Howdy all! I'm back from my trip and see I've accumulated a few votes. That's all fine and dandy, especially in a merc game. However, you should probably keep in mind that
1) I've pretty much played this game as hard as any 3 of you, combined, and
2) I have given quite a bit more information than the rest of you... in fact, not one of you has volunteered a single piece of information. Only the departed Liosan had anything to give.
I think now is a good time to inject more information into the game, and you're free to do with it what you wish.

Based upon the CFs so far in this game, and the fact that the game is subtitled "Romance of the Cultdoms," I think we should all stop pretending to be naive.
I'm pretty sure every single person in this game started off as a Warlord with the power to recruit, including me.
It seems completely unlikely we only had a couple of leaders, and that every offensive sub in play failed their kills. Ergo, I'm going to assume that we were all Warlords and being recruited caused us to change our role (and become a sub of our recruiter).
Here's my original role PM:
Intelligent and Tactical are the same thing, so I started off as a Tactical Warlord with no subordinates.
Night 1, I tried to recruit Tulas Shorn. I picked him because he was the first person to speak after me, and I didn't even know who was in the game yet. I'm pretty sure I had the first action in that day, and my action failed, so Tulas was either Defensive or Tactical.
Night 2, I tried to recruit Ruse. He was a low-poster with some great analysis, and I figured I needed him on my team. However, I failed again, making Ruse Defensive, Tactical, or Level 2.
I never tried to recruit Liosan. I lied about that, because I really don't like low posters and I wanted him gone, and I thought the game needed some life.
On night 2, in addition to failing my night action, I also was recruited by Yuan Shao, who is Korvalain. In the process, my character name and role were completely changed.
So I lied about being 'ambushed' and losing an army size. I became an Offensive sub of Korvalain.
I was pretty annoyed at getting recruited, because it really makes it feel like all the work I'd done so far (even if it was all failures) had been ruined. I didn't go looking for symps of Korv or anything, I just half-heartedly played along and tried to get Liosan, a random low-poster, lynched.
Also, note the Day 3 half-day scene:
Yuan Shao, aka Korv, had the biggest army in the north east, implying he was the biggest threat in the game. I would have thought he would be rank 3 based upon that, but he didn't level up last night (no promotion announcement for hitting rank 4).
We also learned that Cao Cao (Tennes) had apparently recruited whoever had previously been Han Sui, so Cao Cao may not have been a complete weakling.
In my continued anger of low-posters, I decided to kill Tennes last night, and I succeeded. However, if Cao Cao successfully recruited Han Sui (whoever that is), then Cao Cao should at least have been level 2 and me unable to kill him, but I got my action in fairly late (changed it from Liosan when we were going to lynch him), so I'm guessing Cao Cao got knocked down a level the same night, and was a Defensive Warlord, thus enabling my kill upon him.
Sorry, Illy, if you're reading this; nothing personal.
However, I was super excited to see myself finally gain a rank... until I saw moments later that I had lost a rank immediately afterwards.
So since I don't believe any offensive subs could be level 2 yet, unless a player is level 2 and recruited into an offensive class, I was probably hit by a level 2 offensive warlord last night, probably a recruitment effort.
So why on earth am I telling you all this?
Because on top of all that, I was recruited AGAIN last night.
So, I'm once again recruited, this time Defensive, and I'm pretty sure Korvalain has at least one other army, if not 2, at his command (2 seems unlikely unless he somehow lost a rank while also succesfully completing a recruit.
But since he's currently the biggest threat to my leader, it's time for him to go.
I'm pretty sure every single person in this game started off as a Warlord with the power to recruit, including me.

Tao Qian is an Intelligent Warlord who became governor of Xu and Yang provinces. An aged but very wise scholar and diplomat, Tao Qian had no wish to expand his territories or send troops to war, but his underling Zhang Kai killed the family of Cao Cao, and now Tao Qian has no choice but to prepare for war. Of course, once Cao Cao is defeated, why not kill the rest of the other warlords, too?
Currently Tao Qian has only his own Meanas army.
Every night, Tao Qian can try and recruit another army to his cause.
As Tao Qian's prestige increases, the court will grant him greater authority. Every promotion in rank, he can learn or upgrade one of the following abilities:
Enlist Troops - used once each night, adds +1 army size to the army of your choice.
(Once you have this ability you can upgrade to having two uses of this ability per night)
Directive - Each night you can send a message to the army of your choice. They will receive it the morning after.
(Once you have this ability you can upgrade it to automatically be sent to all your subordinates, though you will not learn who they are)
Deploy Catapults - Each night you can Heal the army of your choice, preventing any Kills against that player.
(Once you have this ability you can upgrade to Arbalests, which safeguard the chosen army from all hostile actions)

Path-Shaper, on 11 February 2010 - 07:19 PM, said:
The Emperor entered Luoyang and saw the ruin of his former capital - the palace buildings burned out, the streets and markets desolate. Everything was overgrown with weeds. The walls of the palaces were crumbling. Emperor Xian ordered Yuan Shu to build a small dwelling to serve as a provisional palace. In the meantime court was held in the open woods.
Grand Commandant Yang Biao appealed to the Emperor: "The decree with which you honored me has yet to be dispatched. At present Yuan Shao has the most powerful army in the northeast. He should be summoned to support the royal house." "I have so ordered," said the Emperor. "A second petition is not necessary. Send someone and be done with it." In accordance with the imperial will, an envoy was sent.
In Luoyang the Emperor found all in ruin. Even the walls were beyond repair. Moreover, reports of new threats from Fan Chou and Zhang Ji alarmed him. To Yuan Shu the Emperor said, "Our messenger has not returned. Our enemies could come at any time. What can we do?" Yuan Shu replied, "I will fight to the death to protect Your Majesty." But Dong Cheng said, "Look at our walls and how few soldiers we have! What if we fail? I recommend that Your Majesty proceed to Cao Cao's camp." The Emperor approved, and that day the court set out for the region east of Huashan. Horses were so scarce that the officials followed the Emperor's carriage on foot.
The procession was hardly under way when clouds of dust darkened the sky ahead, and the air throbbed with drums and gongs. Masses of troops loomed in the distance. Emperor and Empress were too frightened to speak. A single rider approached. It was the imperial envoy. "General Yuan Shao," he reported, "has called up every soldier in the northeast and is coming in response to your decree. He has sent Yan Liang on ahead with ten top generals and fifty thousand picked men to deal with the threat to Luoyang from Fan Chou and Zhang Ji." At last the Emperor felt safe.
At the suggestion of Shao's generals, the Emperor returned to his former palace in Luoyang. Yan Liang stationed his army outside the city. The next day Yuan Shao arrived with the main force, established camp, and was received. Prostrating himself below the stairs to the imperial dais, Yuan Shao acknowledged his sovereign. The Emperor bade him stand and commended him for his service. Yuan Shao and his advisors spent the rest of the day updating the Emperor on recent events: after Tao Qian's general Zhang Kai had killed Cao Cao's family, Cao Cao had invaded Xu and Yang. In the west, Han Sui had come into conflict with his sworn-brother Ma Teng, and a great battle was fought between them at Tianshui. Tao Qian and Han Sui's forces were both completely wiped out.

Can't blame them for trying to hit/recruit me, however. I basically said I was level 1.

Based upon his vote on me, I wouldn't be surprised if he knows he lost me last night. Since I failed at recruitment, I dunno the extent of the details that leaders receive.

Oh man, that is awesome on so many levels I almost shouldn't comment.
There's a couple of holes in this reasoning of yours though. Why on earth would I possibly target you for a vote at this point? If I had recruited you, as you claim, then losing you would mean that you'd be able at any time to reveal me to the world as you've just done. Goading you to do just that would be the height of stupidity and not at all thought through. Far better then, to just recruit you once more. It would've given me another certain point and brought you back into the fold. If things had happened like you claim my goal above all other would be to find whomever recruited you from me.
Not to mention that only an idiot would chose the killing power for a weaker minion when one at the same time wins through recruitment.
You've done a long post about how important I am and how minuscule and unimportant you are. By your estimate, you might be the least dangerous player in the game at this point. Funny that.
So yeah, there's plenty of truth in that post of yours I am sure, but when it comes to the important things there are some very strategically placed lies as well. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if many get mesmerized by the shiny length of your post, but in the end I suspect - or hope - that the other players will see where the logic lies here.

One day the Emperor summoned Yuan Shao to the palace. Receiving the messenger, Shao noticed that his eye was clear and his manner energetic. "You at least are plump enough. How do you take care of yourself?" "No special method," replied the man. "I have fared hard and simply for thirty years." Shao nodded and continued, "And what office do you hold?" "I was recommended for filial devotion and honesty," the messenger replied, "and have served Liu Bei, as well as Zhang Yang. When I heard the Emperor was back in the eastern capital, I came to pay my respects and was appointed court counselor. I am Dong Zhao, a native of Dingtao in Jiyin." "A name long known to me," replied Shao. "How fortunate to meet with you here."
Yuan Shao admired the aptness of Dong Zhao's replies and proceeded to ask him about the condition of the royal house. "My lord," he answered, "the loyal army you command has saved the court from chaos and rescued the Son of Heaven. For this you rank with the Five Protectors of antiquity, who safeguarded the sovereigns of the Zhou dynasty. In the present instance, however, we have many generals with many ambitions; they may not always obey you. Therefore it might be more advantageous to move the Emperor from Luoyang to Ye. On the other hand, the court is newly installed here in the former capital after a period of shuttling about, and men of near and far yearn for stability. Another move will be widely resented. Still and all, extraordinary acts win extraordinary merit. The choice is yours."
Yuan Shao, who was timid of taking bold actions, took Dong Zhao's hand and smiled. "I really wanted to move the court," he said, "but your counsel has persuaded me I dare not, lest the high ministers who oppose the move turn against me."
So it was that the court remained in Luoyang, which was eventually rebuilt and the lands about recultivated until the capital became prosperous and defensible once more. Meanwhile, Yuan Shao completed his conquest of Cao Cao's territories, eliminating Cao's forces entirely.

Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

Fuck that is one elaborate, mind blowing reveal. Considering your track record Meanas, it's going to get tricky even guessing what is true in that post and what isn't. It's like you're trying to bludgeon us with an information storm.

I'm still trying to win, Korv, so don't take it personally. I think I've probably taken more NAs than half the players in this game combined. I'm just glad that, until last night, I wasn't able to get killed off. I was kind of stunned to get recruited again, though.
I was pretty shocked to see you drop two votes on me (I'm assuming GL is your newest recruit?). I did mention that I would be gone all weekend, so maybe you thought you could speed lynch me? Hard to say.
I also think that you recruiting me into an offensive sub was a pretty dumb move considering how much killing had failed up until now and how easy it would be to just win by stockpiling guard actions (which is what I was trying to do).
I wouldn't say I'm the least dangerous player in this game, not by a long shot, but I am a level 1 subordinate and a very likely person to die tonight. If my new leader has managed to recruit any offensive players, then I'm an absolutely perfect target tonight for a free level.
But really, if I were my current leader, I'd probably be just as terrified of me as you because I'm probably going to get recruited again tonight. I'm going to get killed off tonight anyway, so I thought I'd share the news and do everything in my power to help the new boss win.

I lol @ that crosspost which pretty much confirms you recruited someone else last night... Dong Zhuo, it appears. It also appears that Dong Zhuo was Cao Cao's earlier recruit, so I killed Cao Cao and you stole his remaining subordinate.
Of course, it's pretty unfortunate for you that I was recruited again, but that's how it goes.
