I've been looking at hotwire...one problem...I have no idea where the hell to book because I dont know how far from everything each hotel is. It would be much easier if you could recommend some that are close to the Interstate, or just inside the city limits, where I dont have to fight traffic into and out of the city, and can instead take a cab from to go into the city.

In other words, HELP!!! lol.

Also, 4 star is what I am looking for. Bubba and I are splitting the room, and if SB can make it and needs a place to crash, well, the more the merrier and all that.

Anyway, thats where I stand right now. By the way, Im hard-core - driving 12 hours (counting the HD detour) there and back. Public transportation is for sissies.

First off Chicago is fucking huge. The best place to stay will be right downtown. On the weekend there will be a lot less traffic then during the week. You don't come to Chicago and stay at the city limits unless it is out by Ohara. From the look of the top 3 hotels on Hotwire I would take any of them. They are all located down in either the loop or streeterville. Giving you good access to the city. Driving in the city is hectic to say the least. I do it every day and try not to go out of my way to do so. It doubly sucks as parking is a bitch. I would suggest that you book one of the top 3 hotels on hotwire and then park in their lot. Cabbing it is the preferred way to travel in the city if you are going to be drinking and we are. Coming in the skyway will drop you basically right downtown or really really close to it coming from Indiana. Take it. YOU DO NOT WANT TO TRY TO TAKE A CAB INTO THE CITY. Chicago doesn't work like that. You come in and park then take cabs around the city. Trust me. Plus if you stay downtown then it will be easy to go to the sears (willis) tower and to the art museum and what not.

STAY DOWN TOWN.

Plus coming back from the party the trip will be a hell of a lot shorter.

Yeah I know were that is. Good location. Pretty easy to get to and right downtown. Very nice Hotel. Walking distance to both the tower and art musee. I thought that it was one of the places listed.

If I were you I would get there go to their parking lot. You will probably have to check in and get a parking pass. I think that their garage is located across the street. Very easy to get cabs there. Plus you are located very close to the subway.
