ATTENTION WELSHIES: Thursday 26th, chill out/look round the nice town centre/got to a good pub (preferably the Heath but am open to suggestions)...
Friday during the day, we could head up the valleys and go to Caerphilly Castle (ancient ruins with replica medieval siege weapons and stuff) It might be a bit expensive but it's pretty sweet!
Friday night we could head into town - Cafe Jazz is excellent, or there are other bars and stuff if you prefer. Getting cheap fish and chips whilst trying to avoid douchebags is always a fun experience too...
Saturday, head into town for a last look around & you get your train/bus etc. Or if you're staying til the Sunday, that's cool too but I will have to be up for church fairly early.

Anyone who lives in Cardiff (Masan's Saddle, Bwgan plus daughter, Gamet etc.) are free to join us on any and all of these endeavours. Subject to change, naturally...
Gutted I can't make to the York part of the trip (being a native Yorkie, I would love to show you around!) and the Manchester bit too, but hopefully there will be a few of us at this point.

I can probably make a piss up on the friday after work and contribute some ale and pork scratchings to the Chain's resupply effort !
As for other places of interest for Rodeo to look at, The central museum is always worth a visit, they had an evolution of man exhibition a few months back incorporating the evolution of weapons, which was rather good. There's also some excellent works by Monet, Manet, Cezanne and Rodin. 2 old ladies donated their private collection to the museum a few years back, turned out to be the best collection of Impressionism outside of Paris. It's actually a fantastic museum if you love history and of course, is free to get in.
Caerphilly Castle, if memory serves, is the largest standing Norman castle in Wales. It's huge and well worth a visit, especially if there is some re-enactment cheese fest going on. Cardiff Castle has Roman foundations and a Norman keep, all topped off with a faiytale finish with follies. It was finished off along with Castle Coch ( pronounced cawch, meaning " Red Castle") at the turn of the century by the Marquis of Bute who did rather well out of the coal industry. So much so in fact, that he was building castles for a laugh and decorating the interiors with Aesop's fables, inlaid with gold. Both castles are a bit pricey but well worth a visit.
The other handy thing about Cardiff castle is that it is smack bang in the middle of the city and surrounded by bars, pubs and restaurants. The city centre is quite compact so there's probably between 150-200 places to eat in or get pissed in within a square mile ! Cardiff Bay is a 2 min train trip and good for lazy beers and wasting a few hours. It also has the Dr Who exhibition for those who dare.
Cardiff is a great place for getting pissed ( lively pubs are The Pen and Whig, Dempsey's, O'Neills....there are lots.) and I need to check, but I think Wales are playing Australia in the rugby that weekend which means an additional 80,000 drunken taffies and antipodeans wandering around....., = Carnage
Edit, Yep, Wales v Australia is on Sat 28th 5.15 KO

Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.
