Hello everybody! I've been a Steven Erikson fan for a decade and I've lurked these forums for seven years. It is high time I registered and said hello.

I met some of you (Sir Thursday, Malaclypse, Dag and others whose monikers I have forgotten) at SE's TtH reading in Cambridge, UK. A particular hello to you!

Ps. I have a specific reason for registering now, but as I am relatively new here I am still figuring out the best place to say it. More soon.

Are you a Nigerian prince who desperately needs to hide a large sum of money and wants to give it to us in exchange for a relatively small fee?

Welcome Lousy and Fresherman, and welcome back Sporadic Smiles!
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Hello! Yet another returning former not probably very memorable former forumer. I used to be Arveleg, but I switched over to being Thalraxal sometime between then and now. Just started reading Return of the Crisom Guard and I noticed that the site was mentioned after the 'About the Author' and said to myself: "Hey! I haven't been there in eons!" and decided to drop by again.

I kinda miss the old Deadhouse Gates theme, but the new one is pretty stylish.

Hi to you new folks.

And to you returning folks, all I have to say is: You thought you had escaped us... But you were wrong... So very wrong... Hahahaha! You'll never escape us! You hear me? NEVER!!!

Right then. Enjoy yourselves and Hey! Be careful out there...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. That's the worst Pennywise impression I've ever witnessed in print, Apt. :D You need to ask them if they like the deadlights and whatnot.

Welcome to Thal and Nerd (seriously, you brought that on yourself, own it, embrace it, love it!)!

Hey, I remember you! Hello and welcome to the forums, nice to meet you again! ;)

And welcome to all other new folks - enjoy your stay, don't flee too quickly, we're not as bad as we may seem at first glance... :D
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.
