And blaming Brood, as suggested above.

Shocking. These newbies are so easily pulled from the path of truth :Surprise:

Hello all, I just stumbled across this forum in quite the same way I stumbled across Erikson. These incredible books saved my love for fantasy as I was stuck in a fatal spiral of Terry Goodkind, Terry Brooks, Dragonlance, etc. and felt like I was slowly going insane. Then along came Fiddler, Quickben, Rake and the rest, and my faith was restored. The gods be praised. Anyways I'm just making my hellos, its good to be here

Well, I figure I should go ahead and make myself known... The name is Isaac, I started reading MBOTF books a couple years back, started on MOI, I know, I'm stupid. I caught myself saying Hood's Balls without even thinking about it, then my friends gave me some weird looks.... So now i am here, posting on the Noob thread. MOI is my favorite of the series, but I love all these books.

That's cool. Several people call me Eyes and Saac, so I don't care. It's good to be here!

Hey I'm Sixty...I started reading erikson's books a couple months ago at the suggestion of a friend (since I liked grrm). I found this website while looking for a forum where people discussed the books (similar to wotmania). Dunno what else to say. :/

Hello all,

First off I didn't see that this thread existed hence the two day delay in introducing myself. :p

Nonetheless here I am and I must say I am/was/will be blown away by this site and the series. Started off in fantasy by reading The Wheel Of Time series. I was gifted the 11 part series and truth be told, did like the series inspite of the tedious parts in the later books. It got me hooked on to the genre and I ventured later to buy the entire series(till that point) of the Sword of Truth series. Couple of books into it I realised that I had made a terrible mistake and my faith in the genre was shattered. While exchanging that series at the book store I was told by the owner to try MBoF, since it was one of the few series never to be brought back by patrons.

Since then I have had some really good time getting to know the world of Wu. Bought and read up to Reapers Gale. Only RotCG and TtH is out of reach and hence my reading has been halted. Still this forum is a wealth of information and general entertainment.

So again. Hi all.
I don't need to compromise my principles, because they don't have the slightest bearing on what happens to me anyway.

Welcome Nandaki!

Hmm, I think you might be the only person from India on the forums (but I could be horribly mistaken on that), congrats!

Thanks! :D

As for being (probably) the only person from India, I think it's more down to the fact the fantasy genre itself hasn't caught on here yet. Also SE isn't a big name author in India as far as the bookstores are concerned and therefore very difficult to get his books.

Greetings fellow people who read books! My name is Loki - feel free to worship, praise, rep or play singstar with me. Your ears will most likely bleed at the un-harmonious way I sing. Yes, I can see a validity to the arguement that my playing singstar constitutes as a human rights violation but in my defence it was none other then Shiara who suggested I would like such a novel party game. If I go down I am taking her with me!

Oh yes, Erikson....I like his books. < see what I did there? I went for a small, understated statement. I think it works quite well really....

Come now, people - you know you missed me ~1

Nono Dancer, you've got it backwards! Loki is like the Seregahl - we've been praying to keep her away! And now we've failed and we're all gonna die!

Edit: Gender fix-er'up... ... D'rek not good with genders, just like his/her/it's worshippers!

Never thought I'd go as far as assuming a name of a character from a fantasy book and then actually joining a massive online forum, but here i find myself...shocked, confused and appalled...yet strangely, joyously enthralled...
Seriously though i've actually REALLY been enjoying discovering my inner geek (!) on here. Started "Gardens of the Moon" in June and I'm now on Toll the Hounds so its been a right old onslaught of "Malazzing" (dunno if thats a word - maybe "Malazaning" would be better - or more accurately, less shit.). Joining a forum seemed a logical step for something so in depth so I'm glad i've found a decent one.
Anyway, hope I can think of something interesting to say at some point.

PS. absolute kudos to your man Onrack with the fantasy art - absolutely nailed Anomander Rake and Tehol Beddict...Show me some Cotillion please.

Thank you Bent!! I appreciate your welcome. I love this series and can't wait to see what happens especially with Quick, Ganoes, and his family as well as Onearm, Coll, Murillo, Rallick and Kruppe.
