Hi all! I've been reading the series since around 05 or 06. Just finished DoD last week and I think I'm gonna restart the series. I'm to hooked not too! It's nice to have an outlet to discuss these things. I had forgotten all about this website and when I remembered I came rushing back to see what I had been missing. My friend that had introduced me into this series died of luekemia almost 3 years ago so it's been kinda tough reading the last few books and not be able to talk to him about it. Anyways I hope to get to know people on here better in the future. Cya.

Hey there, everyone. I've come across this site a fair few times, and I thought it was about time to take the plunge and register.

And so here I am, in all my newbie glory. I've been reading the Malazan books whenever I got the chance, really. Bookstores here don't stock'em much, sadly. I did manage to get Reaper's Gale and Toll the Hounds the other day, though. Finished RG in a day or so, but I think I'm going to force myself to take a break and savour Toll the Hounds.

Anyway. I'll take another look around, and who knows, I may actually get around to posting for once.
Hope to get to know you all in the future.

Hello everyone. I found out about Erikson in December, started GotM in January and just finished DoD last week. I avoided these websites because I went one time previous and accidentally read a spoiler, so I figured I'd wait until I finished all the books. Anyway, nice to see such a following. I've read a lot of science fiction and fantasy over the years and Erikson is my favorite - glad to see I'm not alone in this.
Always reading Steven Erikson, China Mieville, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Dan Simmons, Alastair Reynolds, Joe Abercrombie, and Christopher Moore.

I'm a new Erickson reader... I got tired of waiting for George RR Martin to put out "Dances with Dragons" so I thought I would start reading another series to occupy my reading time at night. Man, I think I have stumbled onto literary genius! I just finished reading Deadhouse Gates and I was blown away by the last 150 pages. I joined the forum mainly because I absolutely love Erikson's writing style, but I get confused by what's going on in the books. And it would be nice to have a place to ask other informed folks what the heck is going on, how did they get there, who is such-n-such, maybe even find a re-read synopsis... I majored in English and used to teach and frankly, I think Erikson's writing style is the best of any fantasy writer out there. I guess I won't feel so if Martin lets me down and never finishes Fire and Ice, since I have found the Malazan series.
I think these are books I can read again and again and get something new each time.

Abit overdue since I Registerd about a year ago but never really got around to post more until recently so I guess I should introduce myself more. Think I started reading Eriksons books in 04 after haveing been reading WoT and Eddings and some Terry brooks books but Eriksons was very diffrent and I was hooked ever since.

I am just about to start Gardens of the Moon, for the first time. I have been a scifi/fantasy fan for decades and have never been more excited about starting a series!

Hola bicholas! I've been reading posts for a long while and finally decided to start doing some of my own. I'm up to date with Erickson and Esselmont and can't wait for TCG. Hood's hoary testes it took me the better part of a year to get here and it was time well spent. Got to be the most interesting series of books I've ever read and props to all you who give a damn. Happy hunting all.

Greetings all,

I have been lurking on the boards for sometime, but refrained from posting. I have been trying to get several friends addicted, I mean interested in the series, having finally hooked a few, they are still several books behind. That being said, I hope to have time to discuss the series in whole (associated books et all), and no matter some people's thoughts (Still don't know if I like her), they shall not go "un-witnessed".

Well, it's been a while since I logged in and I forgot the email address for my previous account here. I used to be regular old Katran but I can't re-use my display name so now I am also a Tennes Witch. (I'm a geologist who works with landforms, go figure. :shocking:) I am also Kat/Katran on the Westeros boards.

Originally joined this forum a few years back because I played mafia with Malaclypse at Westeros and he brought me over here to show 'em how it's really played. Well now I see Malazan Mafia is rapidly catching up with us in terms of game numbers and I haven't played here in a year or two. But hello to anyone who remembers playing in the first few games with me. And hi to Mal and Hetan, GardenGnome, Morgoth and others who I vaguely remember. I just finished DoD so I'm all caught up!

Hello, obviously I'm new to forum. Long-time lurker decided to contribute a bit. I've read all these great books, just finished DoD re-read. SE has raised the bar on all fantasy and ruined most of my book collection. See you on the lists.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

I would say hi to all the new people and I hope you like it here and will enjoy contributing to our little community. Of the Damned!

But they won't let me near the recruitment process. Something about "trying to present a positive image". :)

So I won't.

Hey there,

Just a quick note to say hello to all on the forum. I have been reading the Malazan Book of the Fallen series for a few years now, having just completed The Bonehunters and just about to start Reaper's Gale.
I do love the characters, they are so real and colourful, like a fantasy version of 'Soldier, soldier' almost . I find that I just don't want to put then down (which has led to some wasted days and long nights).
I have all the books so far, with the exception of Dust of Dreams, and am re-reading them, having not read Reaper's Gale or Toll the Hounds yet, which are currently sat on my bedside table.

I look forward to the discussions I have with fellow fans here.

Hello all!

I just joined today, and after a long search for a character name that wasn't taken, I have found one (I think) :p I am definitely an Erikson-addict, and, as only a couple of my friends are reading the series, I was in desperate search of fellow Malazan fans. This seemed the place to be. Just finished DoD last week, and have been hooked on this series since roughly four years ago. Hoping to make my way around the forums over the next little while, see you all around :o
