Hi there,
I have been reading this forum for a while and now want to introduce myself. I have read all the books that are released so far, including the novellas, and find them all awesome. At the moment I am doing a reread, currently towards the end of Deadhouse gates. It is truly amazing to read the books again ater some years, since I now understand a lot I didn't during the first time. (that's nothing new to the ones who have done that, but still I like to tell you). I am looking forward to post my thoughts about book contents in the according sections of this forum.
I'm not a native English speaker, but read all of Erikson's books in the original versions. German translations of fantasy books usually are bad (haven't checked with Erikson, but it is so with GRRM's books, or Dragonlance which I have read a lot), but I like to stick to the originals.

Hey all!
Have to admit, finally glad to be here! Came across these forums quite by accident one day a few weeks ago after I started delving into the new DoD release. Needed to refresh my memory a bit on some things and, after a bit of googling, found my way here. Been perusing the various threads for the last week or so and finally decided I needed to throw myself in with this wonderful community. I know a lot of other newcomers have said the same - and I'm sure all you grizzled vets feel the same - but I can't express nearly enough how much I truly have fallen in love with the epicness that is Malazan Book of the Fallen. I'm an avid reader of fantasy and love me some epics (in fact I find I can't really get into anything spanning less than a trilogy these days) and MBotF is by far the best I've ever stumbled across. I was doing a tremendous amount of reading last summer to fill the hours of a horrendously boring third-shift job and one of the books I happened to pick up for a night read was Garden of the Moons. Before I had even finished it - and knowing it was a part of a lengthy series - I knew I had to have more. So, I rushed home from work one morning, jumped on the computer and ordered everything from Dead House Gates to Toll the Hounds. It's honestly almost disgusting how quickly I began to devour these books, word by word. It was a long, painful wait for Dust of Dreams - I can say that much!
Anyways, I'm so glad I managed to come across these forums. Sadly, none of my friends or family members are much for books, let alone fantasy so I'm sure you can imagine my surprise at finding an entire community devoted to my favorite work of all time. Hello, I lurked in the shadows for awhile and have come into the light. The series has changed the bar for me, as I can not wait tCG to come out. The thoughts and discussions here just add to the fun of a great read.

Hi all.

I've been an occational lurker on this site for some time, and am impressed with the dedication and the seemingly total recall of some members.

I picked up GOTM, got hooked, and read on so that I was up to date by the time of the MMPB release of HoC. Addicted ever since. My reading habit now seems to be, when in doubt, start a Malazan re-read Posted Image

Hey everyone, been reading the series for years, only found this site last week, it will be nice to be able to talk about it with people, I can't get any of my friends to read them :D
On a gap year atm, but when I get back next month I'm starting a full reread and I'll be a lot more active on the forums :p

I may not contribute much, preferring to read other people's opinions and observations on the series/characters/warrens/everything, but I'll certainly have fun here.

yo all. I'm currently on my first read through the series. I started with GOTM because it had a Glen Cook recommendation on it. It took me a while to get through it but by the end I was hooked. I've always liked fantasy but have never liked any of the other "Epic Fantasy" series out there, but this one is, as you all know, quite different. Looking forward to participating here.

I'm currently on ROTCG after reading NOK following BH. I found a list on line somewhere that mentioned starting those two after BH.

Hey everyone, I registered a couple of weeks ago and I guess it's high time to say hello :rolleyes: It's really cool that there is a site which makes it possible to meet so many people who are fascinated by Erikson's world. I think it'd be very hard for me to say how much I love these books. But I do love them :thumbsup:

Hi you Erikson freaks! Just wondering... how can someone write such a great book?! Comming from Slovakia it´s a pseudostate of pseudopoliticians and pseudomen... How am I able to live here? because of Steven Erikson!
