Hey! I gotta say i Love all the nicknames in the MBotF books, whiskeyjack, Tattersail, Silverfox, and especially in bonehunters and reapers Gale when it starts to talk about Braven tooth and how he gives people their nicknames

Hi, I'm technically not new, but this is only my fifth post after I went AWOL for more than a year, so hi.
Again.
Sort of.

Hi all,
I've been an Erikson fan since 2008 when I was blown away by GotM. I'm still only up to Reaper's Gale, but plan on finishing the series this year, well as long as it's finished this year. Loved NoK too and happy that RotCG just came out in the states.
I'm a regular on SFFWorld and less so on Westeros and hope to make this another regular stop.
Take care,
Seak

Hi All,
I'm a new member and I think Erikson's work is top drawer. I'm currently reading chapter 6 of Dust of Dreams and I'm already blown away!
Highlights of the series for me so far: Chain of Dogs, Book 1 of House of Chains (Karsa's story), all of Midnight Tides (best in the series), Iron Bars vs the Emperor,
Some of Erikson's creations are amazingly cool - the KC, Forkrul Assail, Hounds of Shadow, Soletaken and D'ivers.
I love the way that he introduces great new characters and storylines even late in the series e.g. Redmask. I often find myself thinking "Where the hell does he get his ideas?!". Erikson is a genius.
Anyway, enough waffle. Pleasure to be here.

it's kind of unfair how many good ideas he's stuffed into the books.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Hello Everyone!
I, as well, wanted to introduce myself.
I started reading the Erikson during the lengthy wait for the next Martin book. And I have to admit, even though I still love the martin series, that I like the Erikson books more.
I took a hiatus from reading to the series to wait for RotCG to be available again in the states since someone mentioned that that should be read before TtH. But now that I have mine I've been excited to begin reading again. However, I'm shocked at how many of the details from the earlier books I've forgotten so I thought I'd check this out to help fill in some blanks.
Look forward to the future discussions.

Hi all,
I just finished DoD and am about to go back and start all over with GotM because as much as I love this series, there are times when I feel completely confused. I love Erikson's writing style, but the last fantasy series I read was Jordan's WoT, and my brain feels ill equiped to handle the jump. No offence to R. Jordan, but its like going from grade 8 math to grade 12 calculus(poor analogy I know, but the only one I could think of). After reading some of the threads on here, I feel a little better, but I'm still going to reread the series. Looking forward to discussing the series with you all.

Hey there,
Love this series, best one I've read I think, better even than A song of ice and fire. Can't wait for "The crippled god", am planning on rereading the whole series before it comes out.

"Gardens of the Moon" is my second fantasy book ever. I like science fiction, and never thought I could get this much enjoyment from a book that has no cyborgs. NO CYBORGS?!?!?! Not even powered armor! Hunh? Wait... ...That moon spawn thing... It must be a space ship. Must be, it's the only explanation for how good the book is.

Throughout the series you'll find parts that could be classified as SF.

Welcome everybody! Each person that pops up on here makes me feel happier and happier at others discovering the MBotF!
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Hi all, been hooked on SE/Malazan now for about 6 months now, and I'm just getting stuck into Reaper's Gale.
Been trawling through a lot of the threads here... have to say a huge thanks!
This place has really helped me with a lot of puzzling.
Ta very much.

At long last...I step forth into the realms of a madness not unlike my own. I've read the entire series so far, and like an addict, I wait for the last book without any thought to cost or consequence. I only wish it would never end! Steven's work is deep and thoughtful, so unlike most of the dross that is passed off as science fiction or fantasy today. There are so many facets to his characters that one can easily become lost in the work. Thank you for the welcome!
